Pizza Express in County Durham

Best pizza in town! Not surprised PE Durham is so busy. Lovely staff, great ambiance and some gorgeous new additions on the menu. Always recommend!

I have just had a pretty rubish delivery experience. After waiting about two hours for my delivery through deliveroo (which informed me the order wasn’t ready yet after sending numerous drivers), I called the restaurant. The woman who answered my phone told me that my order was ready after i gave her my order number. I then jogged over to the restaurant so I might be able to grab my pizza, but was told I wasn’t allowed. Then I spoke to some deliveroo drivers outside the restaurant and they told me the restaurant was not giving them any orders they tried to pick up today, and then a driver who had just tried to pick up my order camr out and informed us that he was told it wasn’t ready. This is rediculous. Why was I told over the phone that it was ready and the drivers were told it wasn’t. Very dissapointed.

Great food and lovely atmosphere, waited for a while for the food to be served though.

Excellent service. Typical menu as expected. Very nice. All staff in masks.

I had a calzone which was better than expected but, as usual for Pizza Express, everything here is overpriced. None of my group of 6 were particularly impressed or thought it was worth the money.

Adult meals were great, kids pizza were tiny and not very impressive looking for the money we paid, staff were very friendly and kept the kids happy too.

Turned away at 8:40pm even though they shut at 10pm due to booking. Which would be fair but there is a full free restaurant with 4 tables in use, go online to book and am told even though its confirmed that we still can eat in. Not impressed. Take away food was alright tho 😒

Good, brisk and friendly service at lunchtime and dependable pizza. The new menu options are an improvement for vegetarians, vegans and those requiring GF. This branch looked a little tired in terms of exterior and interior decor and in need of a refurb; it was distinctly dingy, except for a horribly intrusive ceiling spot shining in my eyes which detracted from my enjoyment of the dining experience.

Pizza wouldn't usually be my thing but I had a voucher, the pizza was delicious!apparently that had been a mix up in the kitchen which meant my pizza had been delayed and they discounted my drinks, the service was so slick I hadn't noticed!but good customer service to acknowledge before the customer!!
