Pizza Express in County Durham

Had an amazing meal here tonight. Delicious food. The manager Corey was fantastic, really attentive and pointed out potential options from the menu they had. Corey also mentioned that they do a lunch menu during the week so we’ll be back to try the pizza wraps. The team looked like they knew what they were doing, even keeping themselves busy when the restaurant was quiet. Overall, really satisfied and will be back. Thanks to Corey and his team for a great experience!

Booked this restaurant for a birthday meal. 3 ceoliacs in the party which the restaurant were informed of when booking. No gluten free bases so we had to have child GF bases (All three of us felt ill after the meal though so there was definite cross contamination). Staff were quite blunt. Service was incredibly slow. Side orders were incorrect with no attempt at being made right or any attempt at accountability for errors. We brought cake and we're given tiny amounts of cream (which arrived so late most of us had finished our cake) which we were charged £3 a side plate for!!! Honestly each plate wasn't even enough for one person.Restaurant looks tired with paint scraped off the walls - generally dingey aesthetic. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Lovely food!! I had a great la reine pizza, which is always my favourite. Nice experience with great service. Although, my mum had to change her order a few times as the food she wanted was out of stock. Even her second option was out too! Overall a great meal, a little pricy for what it is but still lovely food

Flabby, undercooked dough and insipid tomato sauce. Side salad was fresh and delicious, but cost 6 pounds.Wall next to table was sticky and dirty.Bathrooms are in the basement down narrow, winding stairs. Would be impossible for anyone with walking challenges.

Totally disappointed with today's experience in pizza express Durham, member of staff serving us was abrasive and rude and asking questions that she clearly didn't want an answer to as she asked them whilst walking past our table and didn't even stop to hear our replies.Will not eat here again when we return to Durham.

The pizzas are good, not fantastic but good. It seems to be a bit short staffed as the service is a bit abrupt but I think this is because they have lots to do. On the evening the atmosphere etc is a bit like a hustle bustle day time so not relaxed. And the tables are too close together.

Good food by a trusted brand. Waiters were lovely but service was a bit slow. Ideal location but be careful of the stairs to the restroom, I tripped up and down the squeezed staircase.

Side salad larger than expected so filling and energising definitely recommend coming here worth every penny . Was only 5.99 for this amazing side salad

Best pizza in town! Not surprised PE Durham is so busy. Lovely staff, great ambiance and some gorgeous new additions on the menu. Always recommend!
