Best Sunday lunch I’ve had in a while. The stuffing and parsnips where delicious and the meats were cooked perfectly. Completely stuffed with just one course. We took our dogs along and they were made to feel welcome with dog blankets, treats and water bowls available. Definitely going to return when we are back up visiting family.

Used to have a good selection of real ales but now only 1 (Wainwright's) when we visited on Saturday. Always seem to have issues with their card reader.Like many pubs, particularly with covid numbers so high, would really benefit from offering an outside table service. Having to leave hot food on your table to queue up inside for a drink, is not ideal...However, good food and friendly service.

Called in today with a family of 4 on short notice for Sunday lunch, great we were able to be accommodated due to a cancellation. We were seated and seen to after 15 minutes due to being really busy and short staffed. Ordered Sunday lunch for 3 and a main meal for our daughter, other menus were on offer but we didn't use those. 3 course meal for ÂŁ19.95 was a good price with drink too. Despite a long wait, over half hour, the food was well worth the wait. Roast beef, pork, lamb all cooked perfectly and the meat melted in your mouth. Flavour in all veg, gravy, potatoes and the rest were of top quality. The starters were the same, tomato and chilli soup, beautiful. Service was apologetic for deal and really well received. Deserts were huge and full or flavour. Cakes, waffles Salted Caramel. For sure we will be back as this food was of high quality. Hopefully a full staff next time for a shorter wait time or would be a 5 star.

Stayed for 2 nights and can't wait to visit again. The place, the staff and the regulars made this weekend exceptional. Did I mention the dogs. Love Jess the lurcher and out new Staffy friend too. Keep up the very good work your doing and we will see you all again soon. Richard and Lisa from Worksop Notts

Would not recommend eating here. Always been happy in the past and wondering if it has changed management. Meals were not good chips burnt, food lukewarm and lasagne like leather and as dry. Did tell server but don’t think they were really bothered. Thought it was quiet for a Saturday night. Won’t be returning in a hurry.

Had a booking made for a table, when we turned up on time they told us that they had stopped serving. Manager didn’t bother to come out when the bar man went to ask, they just told us the booking shouldn’t have been taken. Really disappointing leaving little chance for us to find somewhere else to eat, and it was for a birthday family meal! Had used this pub pretty regularly before but won’t be going back, absolute disgrace!

Excellent pub grub. Had a fantastic shredded beef brisket sandwich served with a vat of delicious gravy. Wife's grilled halloumi wrap also excellent, plus lovely cheesecake. Fantastic

Large pub on split levels. Good menu with standards such as burgers, pizza, lasagne & variety of steaks & other dishes. Good atmosphere with helpful & cheerful staff. Pity no 2/3 course set meal option. Well worth a visit.

Booked on the phone well in advance to make a reservation for Saturday night for food. Came on Sat night and there was no reservation in my name. Absolutely fuming. Place was packed and there was no room for us. When the lady looked in the book, some dummy put the reservation down for the wrong Saturday.Incompetence or what. Won't go there again. We went to travellers rest in Witton Gilbert instead and the meal was fantastic.
