Love this little pub, a gem of a place situated on the outskirts of Durham in Shincliffe. Food is second to none and a varied menu to wet anyone's pallet. Have a good meal deal before 5pm. Staff are great and can't do enough for you. Would recommend the place

Table for 9 service/food and atmosphere excellent not that easy when 9 people to be served. Food presentation and quality better than lot of restaurants.. 2 in party required. special dietary need ..no problems

Finally, we thought, a comfortable pub serving good food at reasonable prices and good service has opened. Until last night on every visit we have always been pleased with the food served but what we were served last night ( all 3 courses ) was so under par , some dishes were just tasteless and the wine was vinegar. It might have been a “bad night” but as my local yes we will call in for a drink I doubt we will eat there in the future. Seven Stars ? closer to 2 stars

I wasn't sure what to expect from this small Inn on the edge of Durham, but it met all my expectations. Staff couldn't have been more friendly ans the food was great. Quite unusual pies (with no bottoms!) but very tasty and the pudding (see photo) was lovely. Will definitely return.

Food is high quality at reasonable prices. Many years ago, this used to be a nice place to eat and drink, but went down hill. As I understand it, it's now under new ownership, had a nice makeover and the quality is back.Had 2 hand-pulled beers on tap (Timothy Taylor and 1 other). Beer quality was OK, not bad, not amazing, hence dropping 1 star.Definitely be back for the food, would be nice if they once again served durham brewery beers, or other quality craft beers

The food was absolutely amazing. We went for Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. To top it off, the staff were incredibly friendly and added to the experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and cannot wait to go back

We visited the 7 stars for lunch for the first time on the 17 December. We can assure you it won't be our last. The staff were very welcoming, plenty of room between tables, in a lovely cosy atmosphere. The menu was varied with good Starters, Mains and Desserts. For those on a tight budget the two main meals menu for £15:95 which we had, was lovely, piping hot when served and plentiful. If you require great food at a fair price, this is the place to visit. You won't be disappointed. As customers we felt valued and appreciated. We live locally so didn't need to stay but it will be highly recommended to anyone we know who is looking for a nice place to stay in the Durham area. A good plus point, it is also on a bus route to Durham. Plus, on fine days Durham is accessible via footpaths and also via a lovely river walk.
