Subway in County Durham

Went in here for Lunch while visiting Durham and staff who served me did not make the spicy Italian correctly comparted to other stores of Subway that I visited where staff know how to make a spicy Italian correctly. Staff who made my Spicy Italian put Ham in it along when it does not have ham in it. The staff member did not listen when I wanted to pay separate by using my points for the sandwich and pay the rest on my card and I had to pay £5.79. The Staff member who served me did not ask what bread I wanted for my sandwich just picked any bread out and random.

Subway food is good but this particular store is terrible. As many reviews have stated hygiene is the main issue. The staff don't wear gloves and pick up all the ingredients with their bare hands. In no other subway have I witnessed this, service is slow and the staff seem to change monthly, I suppose for good reason. Everything screams bare minimum effort from the decor to the fact the staff are always chatting in the back. The food doesn't look like it's been stored properly and half of the ingredients never seem to be available (probably couldn't be bothered to order it all after they've run out...), Not to mention the cross contamination of ingredients, I have even seen bits of meat dropped by the staff from a previous sandwich in the salad, tomato section etc .SERIOUSLY DO NOT VISIT THIS SUBWAY!The poor overall quality is 100% down to the staff and this store should really be shut down and revamped before opening again. The staff just don't care and that's not the attitude you want from someone who's preparing food for you...

I purchased a meal from this store and was shocked to see the sandwich artist that served me came from the front door where he was smoking,went behind the counter and served me...WITHOUT washing or sanitizing his hands first..Needless to say I couldn't bring myself to consume the food so paid all that money for a soft drink!!!.What ever has happened to health and safety and food hygiene procedures...😣😣

Everytime I have come in here the hygiene standards are absolutely shocking. No change of gloves, cross contaminated surfaces and equipment, staff are not properly trained or following protocols. It’s a disgrace to be quite frank. Absolutely disgusting and appalling to say the least.

This Subway was awful from start to finish.Firstly the staff member was annoyed we even came into the shop, it was made clear that we were an inconvenience.Then the service was so slow.The shop does not look tidy, at the same time it's bare with not much on display.Then the sandwich, it was awful. The bread was super dry on top, yet under baked on the bottom.When I opened my sandwich the fillings went everywhere as if it was all thrown together, making it very difficult to eat.This is by far the worst Subway I have been to and I will not be returning.

the shelves are empty, the fridge with all the drinks are bare the place is messy and dirty with nothing appetising at all. will not be coming back.

Was slapped together making it difficult to eat with food still being part frozen even after being heated up. Can tell the staff really don't want to be there with general service.

They didn't have the bread I wanted but that was literally the only down side. The store is on the main street, so busses stop right outside, only a short walk into Durham, the river is minutes away if you like the scenic route, the lady that served me was friendly and probably on hour 32 of the all nighter she pulled (seriously go to bed) an outdoor sitting area is just across the road so you can grab your food and sit and eat if you like. Like I said the only downside was that they didn't have the bread I wanted but it's a small store, in a busy city, stuff happens xD.

I love Subway.My most favourite place to eat. Basically i am not a sandwich lover except Subway.. But subway made me a sandwich holic. I need subway sandwich three to four days per week. It's a mandatory food to eat for me. I tried their tuna sandwich and vegetable Pattie sandwich. Yummy and yummy. Their potato chips are also delicious. But no wonder subway sandwich are best among everything.

The staff are cool, and its fast and easy, as all subways usually are, but i have to give it a 4 overall. I recently got food poisoning from here so that has changed my thoughts on this place so, be wary of where you eat as it can ruin a place entirely.
