We arrived late ish for lunch but the chef was happy to keep working. We quickly ordered garlic mushrooms, and black pudding starter. Then fish and chips, and steak pie. ..The starters were fantastic and we both scoffed. The mains followed shortly after, we both enjoyed the food. However the fish batter was very heavy. However the steak pie was awesome.

Nice, welcoming pub with proper pub grub. Wide choice of meals to suit everyone at reasonable prices. I would recommend the Steak and Ale pie with proper thick chips and vegetables washed down with the excellent Timothy Taylor's Landlord ale. Good friendly service. Well worth a visit

Great food, great pub...lovely experience. The rooms are very good, however be wary of the stairs they seem a lot steeper after lots of Hobgoblin Gold and 2 course dinner ..Lovely staff, we will return again. Thanks
