The Blue Bell Inn in County Durham

Service was quick and food was lovely, it can be hard to get a steak cooked properly locally but this was perfect. Cooked by George and served by Connor, barmaid was nice too...forgot the name sorry!Went for a random meal and it turned out it had only opened the kitchen 2 hours earlier for the first time in a while. Despite the place leaving the staff in a bit of a difficult situation with practically nothing to offer from the menu, they still did so very well in a very friendly manner. Would recommend.

Pub has gone down hill. Food awful. How can you cook chips wrong. Half cooked. Steak pie the pastry so hard inside dry. Most of the menu just crossed out. Used to be really good. Will not be going back.

Was not a good experience waiter asked for payment as we got seated for drinks, then gave us menu we ordered mince and dumplings. Sorry he said the dumplings did not rise this morning so can't do them. OK can I have starter of mushrooms, oh he said as there cooked fresh they take a long time. We placed our order came back a second time to take payment 1st. Order took 5min and asked for mayonnaise oh!! He said we have none left.What a shabby mess lost my custom for sure.

Really good food. Plenty of choice. Carvery is lovely for Sunday lunch served till 6pm for anyone wanting to eat later. Also have full menu on Sundays. More than just a pasta dish if you don't eat meat to choose from. Very reasonably priced

My first visit to the Bluebell Inn Stanley and I have to say it hasn't disappointed me the food is excellent and staff are more than friendly it deserves five stars. The fish and chips in the picture is actually the small plate imagine what the large one would be like?

Great Sunday Carvery at the Blue BellMeats excellent had Beef Gammon and Pork plenty fresh veg to choose from and was with Lovely company my great friend and neighbour of mine 😋😋😋😋

Recommended by a friend. Nice inside and loads of choice to suit every purse. Food was delicious, hot and served quickly. Staff are attentive, really pleasant and friendly. After serving and during our meal we were always asked if everything was ok. Fantastic place and we will be going again and telling friends. Thank you.

Delicious. First time we have ate here. Huge portion sizes. Had two courses for under £13.00. Also downloaded the App, got a free drink. Staff were lovely, very helpful and professional. Cosy atmosphere. Would highly recommend eating here, we will definitely be back.
