Pleasant greeting as we arrived for my wife's birthday. Told we can sit anywhere so we sat beside open fire which my wife enjoyed on such a cold day. Drinks came quickly but food took a long time to be served. I had a voucher for a free pudding with every main course purchased so I decided we would order 2 puddings. We said we would take them with us and just required the bill. I queried the bill as only one pudding had been taken off. The web site word say as long as it's in the same party. BUT no its CONN. only 1 per ored. Feel I got ripped off. so will not be going back there again.

Called in for a lite lunch. Pub was very quiet especially as it was a Saturday.Ordered 2 sandwiches from lunch menu, each was very poor only 5 or 6 items.Sandwiches were OK, we ordered brisket of beef and chicken and avacado sandwiches which came on toasted sough dough bread. Both were quite small with a side portion of fries. Also had two coffees which were also unremarkable. We both thought it was a bit overpriced for a couple of sandwiches and coffees.

Had lunch here today with the wife.We received a genuine friendly welcome and the service was tip top. The bar/restaurant is lovely with a nice atmosphere. The log fires really look the part.My wife throughly enjoyed her meal but unfortunately my sirloin steak was sinewy and tougher than Mike Tyson.Five stars for the service but the steak proved a total waste of money so three given

We arrived for our meal today at 1.30 greeted by a lovely friendly girl named Fiona.we were given a table by the fire (too hot for me) then a table by the door (too cold)She then found us a lovely cosy bright corner (fantastic customer service) and all with a smile. We had fishcakes and gammon absolutely fabulous hot and tasty. We were overcharged for our meal and non other than Fiona to the rescue!! The manager was apologetic thank you.But the big shout out goes to Fiona (well done and thank you)

Nice pleasant pub. But overpriced, got beef sandwich which was nice and tasty, sweet potato fries cold. Party of 8. Final bill service charge, all for leaving tip bit not been added to bill.

Went for the three course festive menu. Had soup which was delicious, belly pork main and Creme Bruelee dessert. Delicious food, nicely presented but portions too small. Might not suffice if you were very hungry. Also, we were told it was an extra 50p each if we wanted a yorkshire pudding!! Rather mean for such lovely place. Nice ambience and good service.

Went other day, we were very disappointed. Food took ages to arrive, then the mains took even longer. Was ok but very expensive for what it was, the vegetables were over cooked... No apologies for the wait either. Needless to say we won't be coming back or recommend to anyone.. shame it used to be good 5 years ago...
