My friends parents were the landlords going back when I was a child. It was good to visit again and found it to have friendly landlords and staff. It was good to reminisce with my sister of happy childhood days. The pub was smaller then and much darker, now it benefits from a large extension and brighter tasteful lighting. It was a shame we had already eaten as the smell from the kitchen and the meals being served looked amazing with large potions too.We shall return to sample the food, to meet the landlords and staff and reminisce once again.

We went for lunch and we ordered a cottage pie that was smaller than a children's portion for an adult also the veggies were frozenand a chilli that was full to the brim of chilli peppers my mouth was on fire and lastly a chicken that was the smallest portion for an adult that i had ever seen and the chips where frozen over all I wouldn’t go back and they would be lucky to get anyone to go back because the price we paid for that was ridiculous!!!

I've messaged and rang a number of times to try and book a table; there has been no response and there is no ansaphone. So much for trying to support local businesses.

Atmosphere was really good, the two girls serving were fantastic. The food was alright, I did have to ask for my chips to be cooked further as they were undercooked, this was rectified professionally and swift, and they were great once sorted. When I paid the bill one of the girls that was serving asked the woman that was dealing with me a question, and the woman, (who appeared to be senior, manager, owner?) Acted very bizarre and appeared to be quite rude to the young girl, which I found rather uncomfortable. All in all though,Food - 3/5 would be 4 if chips were done without askingService - 2/5 would have been a 5 if not for the senior member of staffValue - 4/5Obviously this was this visit, and I will visit again At some point. Will update review and I would imagine it will be a 4*
