"These former two properties were grade II listed in 1987 and described as ‘late 18th century with mid-19th-century shop and public house fronts. The public house has a door right of centre, with a moulded hood over lintel incised C 1822’. At that time, Crook was a rural hamlet with a population of 228 (125 males; 103 females), chiefly employed in agriculture. The ‘Horse Shoe’ was the only inn."

Really good experience here for dinner. Team are friendly and helpful. Food was great. Service was prompt. Only comment would be for the Mussels to be served with a side bowl of lemon water for messy fingers to be cleaned in and a plate for the mussels for be put on when taken out of the big bowel they’re served to the table in.

Stayed 5 nights, room very nice and comfortable cleaned daily with fresh towels, water, tea and coffee and shortbread. Food in the restaurant to die for. Breakfast excellent. Would definitely be going back

Just celebrated my birthday . Had a lovely steak cooked to perfection . Of the other 13 meals there were no complaints I will definitely be back for more.

Fantastic food. I had the Lamb Shank, super tasty, fall off the bone, melt in your mouth. Absolutely delicious!Well and truly recommend this place. Staff really friendly, polite and helpful.Music, just at the right level.Beer in good form and served just right.It's a 5 ⭐ rating from me!

Staff were not especially helpful when trying to accommodate for a group of 7. Two tables which were close to one another could have been moved together, but we were not allowed.Food was good, lovey views

Service was great, the guy who showed us to our table was lovely. The food was the best we've had out for a long time. The chefs beef was amazing and the mariners pie was delightful as well. Portions were very generous, even for the kids meals. No complaints at all. Will definitely be back!

Excellent service. Food portions are superb and extremely tasty. Very good value for money as well. Rooms are extremely comfortable and noise is a minimum. The pub is really a food based pub and not one for locals to go drinking and as such it is very relaxed. The staff from the cleaners, waiting on staff, chefs and the management are all very amenable and professional. Nothing is too much. Hard for someone like me not to find any faults. As a group, we have all decided we are revisiting. Charlotte and Jade deserve additional mention for making us feel at home. Thanks to all.
