Really enjoyed our stay here. The room was nice, the food great, the beer superb and the staff absolutely lovely. The point docked was for the room being absolutely freezing because the radiator was turned off. We sorted it easily, no need to bother anyone, but it wasn't very welcoming. It wouldn't stop us staying here again though.

Really nice pub / restaurant, great selection on menu, food quality was excellent as was service, great value and very pleasant surroundings. Stayed in the bar for another pint of raven and listening to the pub quiz , it’s proper Guardian crossword level , really entertaining, Great night out , highly recommended.

I would have rated 5 stars prior to Sunday breakfast, the restaurant was excellent , extremely well run and food amazing ,up until Sunday morning the staff were friendly, efficient and generally lovely, Saturday breakfast was great and the room was comfy. Sunday breakfast was very disappointing, it seemed we had overstayed our welcome by 920 as it was all being packed away even though the plates of cooked breakfasts for 4 guests had only just arrived and when we asked for coffee to be filled up the member of staff looked at her watch, this prompted me to double check that we should have been welcome until 10am . The hot water flask was empty and there were no cups, we felt sorry for the guests who came down later than us and had to ask for every single thing they wanted, such a shame as we all had thoroughly enjoyed our stay up until then.

Stayed here for 2 nights as we were visiting Beamish Museum. The staff have all been great. The customers in the bar have been friendly. We ate in the restaurant and had the steak plate for two, great value and great food. Will stay here again if we come back. Thank you Mark and Jo

Visited the restaurant for evening meal. Very quiet with only two other tables occupied. Service was a bit slow but food was very good and special offer of free house wine with two main meals was excellent.

Really good food cooked in an open kitchen , food was brought out piping hot and in good time. Good drink selection but found the menu a bit short. Other than that I couldn't fault the place. Nice atmosphere weather your wanting a traditional pub setting infront of the fire or more modern surroundings this place can cater for tgat

Not been here before until today. It's a lovely pub with a really good selection of drinks. Even though we were in towards the end of service the Sunday lunch was really nice. Will definitely be back at some point.

Absolutely brilliant place, the pub and dining area are lovely and cosy, staff are going above and beyond and are super friendly. We stayed in the same room (Nelson) as our first visit in 2018, at the back. While the room isn't big, it was cozy and had everything we needed and we loved the design. Quiet and restful sleep and a great breakfast in the morning to set us up for the return trip. Perfectly situated too and only 1 mile off the A1. Our place to stay when visiting our.friends. We'll be back a couple more times this year. A++++++

Really nice place to visit. Wife and I ,called in on the spare of the moment, one Sunday evening. We were still able to get a Sunday roast, for her, and a curry for me . The food was very good, the portions huge. Staff are excellent ,we were made to feel so welcome, you'd have thought we had been regulars. Mark, the manager , treat us as if he had known us for years. While there,he showed me pictures of the accommodation, I was impressed. We visit Durham quite often ,this summer we'll be phoning Mark and staying at the Lambton Worm . Our thanks to Mark, the staff and the chef. We had a lovely evening. 👍

A short break away. A lovely spot, clean comfortable rooms, and ours was very spacious. We looked at various options for dinner but decided to stick with The Lambton and we're not disappointed. Unobtrusive, efficient service from pleasant staff. Great food. One steak and ale pie one three pigs. Hot and delicious. Breakfast spot on too. Would definitely go back.
