The Old Bakery and Tearoom in County Durham

We stayed in Ivy Cottage by the Grey Bull and the locals in the pub recommended the pies here and wow was not disappointed so we purchased a mixed load of pies to bring back to Norwich as the can be frozen too and I have to say they are the best pies I have ever eaten 🥧🥧🥧🥧👍

Excellent bakery on Stanhope high street. Very good selection of pastry delights that offers excellent value for money. Call in if you are passing.

Fantastic old school bakery with lovely corned beef and potatoe pie,staff always friendly and keen to help.

Really nice staff, came back here every day food was delicious best bakery I've been to in a long while, my kids loved those muffins and the creamy veg lattices are to die for!!!I need the recipie xxx

Stopped to grab some hot sandwiches for the lads, they do the usual breakfast sandwiches which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. They also sell a great range of pies, pastys, cold sandwiches, sweet pastries and cakes

Great home made goods available in here and they also sell fabulous pastries, hot dips and cakes, well worth a visit whilst you are in Stanhope 100%

Friendly cosy tearooms above it's own bakery, they also bake a vegan range of pasties and rolls.

Friendly atmosphere, historic building with traditional decor. Nice food and friendly helpful staff.

Popped in today for a late lunch. Cosy little tearoom above the bakery. I had steak pie he chose chicken and leek pie both came with fresh veg (cabbage carrots and peas) homemade chips and gravy. Both were absolutely fantastic very tasty. We didn't manage to get put of the bakery unscathed either 2 jars of local jams 2 packs of biscuits a slice of cornflakes cake which you used to get at school...mmmmm waiting for my lunch to digest before starting on the sweet stuff. A visit is a must.
