The Old Court House in County Durham

I was really looking forward to bottomless menu. burnt crisps which I could not eat with steak sandwich,salad was not up to much. The waitress was brilliant but management didn't listen to our feed back. It's the 2nd time I have been there this year and been left totally disappointed .

I had steak which was ok but slightly overdone. My daughter had chicken with blue cheese sauce which was more like cream no taste. The meals were average and the place was crowded.

Really nice Sunday lunch. Friendly staff. Faultless meal and service. Excellent value for money, both the meal and the wine.We will certainly be back.

Lovely decor. Loved every thing about it. The flowers, the ligths the rustic brickwork etc Bar staff were very good. Was visiting as part of a large retirement party group.Opted for the bottomless brunch. Wasn't very bottomless.No one came to check if we'd like any additional items bringing out, during the main courses. We asked for a second lot of dessert, as 2 plates of little cubes of cake did not go far between 5 people. The waitress looked at us in shock and said she 'could ask'. We said we were having the bottomless brunch Think she must have been new and not got the whole concept of the bottomless brunch deal, yet. (She looked petrified anytime anyone asked her a question, to be honest). The bottomless brunch was OK for drink, money value wise, but not a massive selection available compared to other venues that offer bottomless brunch. The food was nice- we all loved the feta and pomergranate pizza. Just would have just been good if someone had checked if we needed anymore of the mini foods, rather than having to ask.(we didn't ask for extra of the mains) Whether it was because we were in a large group no one thought to as, I don't know. Also, the way it was presented wasn't the best, as in putting it on the slate cake stands. The bowls and plates and the old newspaper style paper was good, but the wobbly slate cake stands made it hard to see what was in each bowl and awkward to get. And they were not very sturdy. If I went again I'd just order off the main menu I think.

Good service and friendly staff. Good atmosphere, lot of effort put into the varied menu and decor. Drinks and food was of good quality. One member of the party didn't complete their meal (steak was a bit tough) and the staff offered to remove it from the bill, offering a replacement or complementary drink.

Really charming place. Vibrant and friendly . Great choice of food. Lovely atmosphere. Good price too.

We booked the snug for my son's christening. Communication with Helen was great throughout and the team took care of everything so we could relax and enjoy the day. Food was great, the set up with the cake and decorations was perfect, and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Everyone who came said they thoroughly enjoyed the day and were also impressed with the old court house. I'll definitely book again for another event when an occasion arises. I highly recommend it!
