The Olde England in County Durham

My first time hear and it won't be the last!!!Food was absolutely beautiful massive portions and staff were very friendly from the moment of walking through the door. I will definitely be returning and I would recommend to anyone.

Went here to celebrate my great nephew' s 1st birthday. Lovely helpful staff. Gorgeous Sunday lunch. Couldn't fault it!

Looks like a cosy pub, but with excellent food and room for big groups. We had a round table so we could all speak to eachother, the servers were fantastic and really accommodating and the food was immense. Absolutely going to return to try everything else on the menu.

Nice accommodation and friendly staff, we arrived late evening, just before our pre advised ETA of 11:00pm, but did struggle to get in as the reception door was locked. We caught the eye of a friendly and helpful staff member who let us in and keys were waiting so only a minor niggle to an otherwise very pleasant stay.

Went for our Xmas meal here. I had veg soup, Turkey dinner and ice cream. The ice cream was lovely. The rest wasn't. Very bland and looked old. Staff looked like they didnt want to be there. They didn't greet me as I walked in looking for table which was booked. Only pointed when I asked. But its a beautiful place, however a little dated.

The Old Mill staff have been professional, accommodating, and friendly in everything they do and nothing has disappointed me during our stay.Comfortable, clean, spacious rooms that are well equipped.Superb food quality and choice, both breakfasts and evening meals.All concerned should be proud of what they offer a guest. I would travel further than normal to stay here again when working in the area. 😁

Took my wife here today for lunch for our ruby wedding anniversary, we had been before a good few years ago but we thoroughly enjoyed the food we had on that occasion. It's an approximate 20 mile car drive but well worth the time. The food is still amazing and the staff are friendly, efficient and attentive. I had the smothered chicken and my wife had the steak and ale pie. She commented that the meat was literally just falling to pieces as it was so well cooked, the smothered chicken was like angels dancing on the tongue, everything was just perfect. We finished off with cheesecake which was so light and tasty, and the bill was very reasonable. I've only given 5 stars because that is all that is allowed, but would certainly double that if at all possible!!!
