Battered chilli beef, was lovely. I couldn't believe the portion size and that it was all for me. Absolutely stuffed

One of the first restaurants I actually enjoyed since moving to England. Ingredient are more qualitative than most restaurants, the chips are actually chips made of potatoes not potato paste that has been frozen. Will definitely go again. Also the building itself is pleasant and clean, older building that has been restored <3

One of my favourite places to eat. Always delicious food. Please put fish and chips and chicken Kiev back on the menu! Clean establishment, nice friendly staff, great priced food for quality.

Me and my family visited here on Saturday afternoon for a family meal after a visit to fire and ice festival in Durham. We sat down to an extensive menu which was a difficult choice as there is lots to chose from.choose We ordered catch of the day, classic burger and pulled pork paramo which we all thoroughly enjoyed with chips and salad.. We now have our favourite pub/restaurant says my daughter and will visit frequently.

Just a last minute call in on the way past. All I can say is amazing food, huge portions and fantastic service. Would definitely recommend.

We dined here as a birthday party of twelve. We took advantage of the lite bite menu up to 6pm. The prices on this menu goes up to £7.95 for the philly cheese and steak dirty fries. BBQ Chicken Baguette or Garlic Chicken Baguette are £5.95. service was good, but the food and portion size are what make this excellent value for money. Will certainly return to try some of the mains which are pricier but look really good too.

Food is brilliant quality and portions are huge. The baguettes off the light bites menu are superb and very filling. There is great value for money here, I will definitely return.

For years, The Poachers has been one of the best restaurants in the area. Glad to see them expanding the menu with influences from other cuisines - despite their namesake, you won't really find game here, but you will find a perfect blend of affordable pub-food-done-right.Add in decent drink options, lovely staff and a cozy atmosphere, and you've got a place I wouldn't hesitate to recommend for anyone after a quick bite.
