The Pollards in County Durham

I've been coming here with my parents for easily 7+ years now, and it's never failed to be a good night out!Atmospherically, it can get loud - but I guess that is just cause it's popular and for a good reason: the portions are MASSIVE. You can argue that it's a waste of food, but you're not going home hungry at least. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the somewhat new remodeling is cozy.Overall, it's great to go with family or friends - the menu has changed slightly which is my only fault as I'm a person of extreme habit (I really do miss the old sharing platter lmao, it was so good..) but it's worth a shot imo.Just a heads up that booking is always the key though, as it's often packed full

Very good food served by polite and attentive staff and not over priced will definitely book again.

Most people go for the food, which is very good quality, and huge portions. Most people do not manage to clear their plates.Carvery on a Sunday and special offers are very good value.Gets very busy most days so would recommend booking to avoid disappointment as quite often are fully booked. Large free car park to rear also has beer garden

Festive menu not cheap but you don't mind when the food is as good as this. Absolutely superb and great friendly service too. What's not to like!

Lovely meals,curry, stroganoff and pasta dishes were delicious. They also brought out a massive dish of chips, which were lush!

What can I say? WOW, what a fantastic place to eat. We needed to book and I understand why when we arrived it was fully booked. We were shown to our table and the staff were lovely. The food was very reasonably priced and it was fantastic. The portion sizes are huge (as you will see in photo's) it was hot and presentation was lovely. Very highly recommended, just a word of warning - wear loose fitting clothes haha.
