The Three Horse Shoes in County Durham

I have been past this pub/restaurant many times on my visits to family in the North East and never been in........what a mistake.Real ale, fantastic food with a menu to suit most people, great service and a nice atmosphere. And a bonus to people who try to avoid getting dents in their vehicle, a nice big car park. As Arnie says "I'll be back".

Can't recommend highly enough. Stayed for one night. Very comfortable room, friendly helpful staff, and the food is absolutely wonderful. Delicious evening meal and breakfast. Absolutely flawless

Really good food at a reasonable price. Called in on Wednesday about 11.45 am. Really good service from the couple of staff that served us. We only had main meals which we all enjoyed. 1 x burger (£12.10) , 1 scampi (£12.20) and 2 x chicken and dumping.(12.55 each).When we arrived there were already a couple of other people there . When we left the place was beginning to get quite busy.

Really good experience here for dinner. Team are friendly and helpful. Food was great. Service was prompt. Only comment would be for the Mussels to be served with a side bowl of lemon water for messy fingers to be cleaned in and a plate for the mussels for be put on when taken out of the big bowel they’re served to the table in.

Stayed 5 nights, room very nice and comfortable cleaned daily with fresh towels, water, tea and coffee and shortbread. Food in the restaurant to die for. Breakfast excellent. Would definitely be going back

Fantastic food. I had the Lamb Shank, super tasty, fall off the bone, melt in your mouth. Absolutely delicious!Well and truly recommend this place. Staff really friendly, polite and helpful.Music, just at the right level.Beer in good form and served just right.It's a 5 ⭐ rating from me!

Very nice place, good service and wide choice on the menu. Though had already ran out of some items on the menu. Popular venue the day we went

Service was great, the guy who showed us to our table was lovely. The food was the best we've had out for a long time. The chefs beef was amazing and the mariners pie was delightful as well. Portions were very generous, even for the kids meals. No complaints at all. Will definitely be back!

Excellent service. Food portions are superb and extremely tasty. Very good value for money as well. Rooms are extremely comfortable and noise is a minimum. The pub is really a food based pub and not one for locals to go drinking and as such it is very relaxed. The staff from the cleaners, waiting on staff, chefs and the management are all very amenable and professional. Nothing is too much. Hard for someone like me not to find any faults. As a group, we have all decided we are revisiting. Charlotte and Jade deserve additional mention for making us feel at home. Thanks to all.
