·

Really friendly pub with great music. Such a shame they don't do food anymore.

·

Real ale, lovely coffee and fine music, what's not to like.

Called in for a Sunday Roast, and was not disappointed. Trio of meat (beef, pork and chicken) all cook to perfection, mash, roasted pots, carrots, green beans, parsnips, peas, two Yorkshire puddings and plenty of proper gravy. I got the large and it was £15.95. Great value, as i throughly enjoyed it and i couldn't finish it all. (not like me)Bonus we could take our dog in also.Food 5* all day long, lost 1* because only 1 lager choice.Would recommend, and definitely go again.

A great little pub, great garden. Will be brilliant when it's allowed to open again.

Just been reopened under new very experienced management. Already things have improved and new menus are great. Had a lovely late lunch here which was delicious and very good value. Staff delightful. Will return. Can't recommend it highly enough!

The best place I've ever stayed at. The food is exquisite, huge portions and utterly delicious. The bedroom and facilities are outstanding. Beautiful interior design and attention to detail. Everything is fabulous, especially the warm welcome from the couple who own/run it, nothing was too much trouble. It's a real gem, only minutes away from Barnard Castle. The only bad thing about this place is having to leave.

Had evening meal with my family. Excellent menu, nice fish options and usual favourites. I had steak pie with gorgeous, flakey pastry crust, chunky hand cut chips and selection of vegetables. Nice large glass of Pinot Grigio to wash it down, I wasn't driving by the way. Nice selection of desserts but was full up. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed food wise.

See you again soon 👌

We were made to feel really welcome. The food was well-priced, of good portion size and really delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing and really pleasant. They also do their best to keep it family-friendly. Would gladly return if it were closer!
