The Turf in County Durham

First went to the turf fifty-two year ago and it's hardly changed a good pub with entertainment, music on the heavy side but who doesn't like that.

Fantastic pub with a real Consett feel! Great beers and the best selection of live bands since the broken doll closed. They do a delicious home cooked Sunday dinner too. All in all a truly brilliant pub!!

Went to a wake staff were really friendly and food was delicious.

For my money one of the last unspoiled original bars in Consett. Its cleaner and tidier than it's ever been and still packing them in on a weekend with the live music.I've been drinking here for years, great down to earth place with great down to earth people.They also do wonderful food, cooked on the premises by the landlady and very tasty it is too.

Brilliant atmosphere. Friendly bar staff. Some lovely gins and cheap too. Great live music from rock band trilogy putting a new spin on some classics.

Went to see my mates band on a Sunday afternoon (6pm), we took our 14yr old daughter who the lead singer teaches guitar too. It is a drinking man's pub but everyone was really friendly and we stayed till around 9pm. Bar staff were excellent and even though it was full of lads who were hammered they seemed to have it all under control!

The Turf nice bar. Lots of couples there. Drinks affordable Price, excellent covers band Trilogy on tonight. Good service at bar. Like this place. A must for night out in Consett. Would like to try Karaoke sometime soon.
