The Whitehills in County Durham

Son and daughter in law took me for a mother's day treat today. We were welcomed with a glass of prosecco and small box containing chocolates. Meal was lovely. The staff were very friendly. Made my day very special. Will definitely be going back. Thank you

Went for lunch Saturday and Sunday gone and both times the food was lovely. We had a burger and steak on Saturday, both meals cooked great (steak cooked as requested & burger hot with cheese nicely melted). Sunday dinners (a 3 roast dinner and a turkey dinner) were both great, even brought out some mint sauce to go with it on request. We could tell the veg was fresh and in our opinion was cooked to perfection and that's saying a lot. Service was fast and friendly too. Wish I'd thought to take photos before digging in!

Nice pub and atmosphere, but service and food are a let down. Tables not cleaned, staff too busy talking with each other behind bar and not paying attention to customers. Food is hit and miss, sometimes can be good, most times it's well below average, but the staff don't seem to care. A shame, because have been going there for years.

Dropped in for a quick pint with the wife, all a can say is we stayed for more than 1, had to be done.Great selection of beers and the wife was impressed with the wine, food was amazing and to top it off the staff were top notch.Will definitely be returning next time in the area.

Great local pub! Hired out the private bar area for my mam's 60th birthday. Lovely area for a get together, and the staff were amazing! Definitely recommend for any events.

Really friendly, allowed us in the conservatory with our 2 dogs after a long walk. Had Sunday lunch which was very reasonably priced and was good quality. In all a lovely place.

Great little dog friendly pub with good food. Burger was well cooked, and great value for what came with it. Great location for dog walkers as its only a 5 minute drive from Waldridge fell.Dogs are welcome both inside and out, with a rear beer garden perfect for dogs. If it's quiet, they could easily be let off the lead.
