This is a lovely place to stay!! I am here for one night whilst visiting some family in the north east, I got to reception minutes before the deadline for checking in at 9pm, I was greeted by extremely friendly staff that immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable. In particular, one lady that was manning the reception was amazing, the bar had been closed for the night and she was due to go home to her family but, insisted on opening up to get me a a beer!!! The room is perfect, great views of hills and open countryside and has a lovely large garden at rear with plenty of tables. I will certainly be staying here again on my next trip up this way, I highly recommend it!!

Second visit. Just as good as first. Chicken Jalfrezi with rice chips and naan bread. Very tasty curry, one of the best I've had other than an Indian restaurant. Two mains and 2 pints for 32 quid. Would recommend

I only went here during a power cut and really had no idea what I had booked. What a pleasant surprise when we arrived. The entire building is spotless, the room we stayed in, we were advised was 'snug' and on the smaller size, but honestly the size is more than made up for by the tasteful decor & cleanliness. When I rang to see if they had a room with a bath available and explained we had a power emergency they immediately pulled the check in forward 2hours and still managed to move furniture around and add a bed so that we could all be accommodated. The reception was the most friendly and relaxed I have ever had at a hotel. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, family's, couples, executive, as a hotel it really ticks the box for everything and does it really well! Even the Sunday dinner was spot in! Can't wait to go back and try the double spa bath room, and the hot tub in the summer!

What an amazing little hidden gem!Booked a last minute stay for our anniversary and engagement, arrived to our room covered in rose petals and a card with a meal voucher from the hotel and a bottle of prosecco. We had a slight problem with the spa bath and the staff were more than accommodating, by offering us free drinks and upgrading us to the hot tub suite. Breakfast was divine as well. Gutted we arrived too late to have dinner, but will definitely be back here to stay. Never stayed somewhere so lovely and welcoming!

Stayed here last night for a night away with my partner. When we arrived rooms were great and staff were friendly. We had an issue with the water in our jacuzzi bath and without hesitation the staff got us moved into a new room with an out door hot tub. Greatly appreciated. Prosecco in the room. Hot tub, breakfast was lovely an all round gem of a place, will definitely be back
