Called today for fish and chips .Absolutely amazing .Chips beautiful battered cod superb .Staff very very welcoming .Lovely to be greeted with a nice smile and ' how are you ? How can we help ? ' Lager and red wine excellent .Can't wait to go back ! P.S dog friendly ! Thanks to all x

Unfortunately not great lamb curry was tasteless but large portion.Steak was cooked beautifully but had to ask for fresh chips as they were not cooked thoroughly bit raw to be honest so obviously by the time I received fresh chips I had ate my steak.

The venue was lovely. The staff were pleasant, attentive and chatty. The food was gorgeous! Would highly recommend this place!

Couldn't decide where to go, passed this place and decided to give it a try. Absolutely amazing food. Pub meal prices and portions, restaurant quality food. Really tasty, I had belly pork, hubby had seabass, both delicious and generous portions. Drinks prices were reasonable too. We will be back.

Food was ok, service good. A lot of vegetarian meals have now gone and choice is limited. Loved their veggie curry but alas its no longer on the menu. For the price I'm not eager to go back.

This review is based on very poor communication - I was looking to book a baby shower here as the place looks lovely. We have waited 2 weeks for a buffet menu, apparently they didn’t receive my emails to chase it up?I booked the party, however, I got told today that the time I have chosen has already been taken. Very poor communication and competence.We have finally decided after 3/4 weeks in total of messages back and forth and waiting for menus that we’re not going to choose this venue - don’t wait it out, you won’t get anywhere.

Sole focus is on food and you are treated as a bit of an inconvenience if visting for a drink. This starts with interrogation on entry, 'Have you booked??' Despite the size of the place and the apparent inability to fill it with diners, there are just a handful of small tables allocated for those wanting to have a drink. If management had any clue, they'd work on converting these people to diners by treating them well and offering somewhere comfortable to sit.

The place was beautiful and the food was quite good, but prices were a little bit high for the amount of food received.

Now ran by the same team behind The Travellers Rest at Witton Gilbert, it's hard to fault either the service or the food.The Korean Pork is a stunning little dish, the burgers are juicy, and the Sunday lunch is fantastic value for money. Possibly the best crackling in the NE. Yes, you'll pay slightly more than other pubs yet it's worth it.Not massive changed inside from its days as The Toronto Lodge, the only real area that needs improved is the toilets. The 'industrial' farm feel is dated and the tap is terrible. Not enough to knock a star off for though.Recommended and it's our go-to restaurant if we can't be bothered to cook.

Visited Toronto Lodge on a last minute booking and thankfully they were able to accommodate 4 of us on a Saturday night.Did not expect the place to be so well presented and modern.Food was lovely and staff were also very welcoming. Will definitely be visiting again if in the area.
