Zaps Burrito Bar in County Durham

Zaps is one of my favourite places to grab lunch when I’m at work in Newcastle, and this Durham branch was in a really lovely building, with all the same items as I’m used to which was extra nice. As a vegan, I’m catered for, and they have a great drinks selection too. Always love Zaps!

Great little place tucked away near the bridge in Durham. I went because I have been to the shop’s Newcastle counterpart and had good experiences. Good didn’t disappoint, the service was fast, and the atmosphere was friendly and pleasant.

Food is OK, (Quite OK taste wise but they don't heat the burrito once assembled and the fillings aren't kept hot).SERVICE IS AWFUL. The waitress was quite rude when I went to order and seemed very annoyed when I took time reading the menu even though I was not in the queue and the place was also quite quiet too so this wasn't really an issue. Seemed like she couldn't wait to sit back down and hide behind the bar on her phone.

Service was fairly slow as we had to wait for the staff to finish packing some things away vefore they served us which was very awkward standing watching g them work. The food was good and the portion sizes were very generous. I would eat there again but, wouldn't be my first choice.

Good value fast food style Mexican. Ask if they have the chorizo filling available as it's very flavoursome. Nothing is as spicy as it suggests so get extra jalapenos.Friendly and helpful staff and more space to sit down than you'd initially think. Meal deals are good value too.

Ordered a meal deal for two, what was delivered was completely different, totally different meat, contents, everything and the food was stone cold. Rang the restaurant and told to ask for a refund through deliveroo and order again. No explanation on why the order is wrong and no attempt to resolve the situation. Disgraceful. Edit, after receiving reply from restaurant that delivery service is to blame, I question why the delivery receipt was exactly what we ordered but the food delivered was completely different. Very disappointing. Have now been offered vouchers to compensate which has been very appreciated.

Good food and well presented, in a trendy part of Durham. Good deals and highly configurable menus with loads of choice. The only drawback I found was the food was not as hot (temperature wise) as it should have been, it seemed a little lukewarm. Staff were helpful.

We had a Mexican escape this evening and it was simply amazing. Very nice interior decoration, a very cosy and vibrant atmosphere inside, the staff were friendly and helpful. We had burritos and chilaquiles , it was simply the best. Very nice & filling portions and very reasonable prices too. I would like to recommend here for your Mexican food cravings 😍👍✌. Thank you.

I have only tried "Churros" and they were tasty! You can get 4 Churros with chocolate on top for £3.70 and even with ice cream for an extra £1. I had to wait around 15 minutes for them to be ready but totally worth it. I would definitely go back just for Churros. #foodieguide #letsguide #properchurros #churros
