Zen in County Durham

Excellent food in a very stylish restaurant. We did the thaipas option and represents very good value for money and gives you a really good chance to explore what’s available on the menu. Would highly recommend that you pay a visit to Zen.

What a fabulous place. Booked after recommendations and certainly not disappointed. The atmosphere is amazing, the food first class. Our server Manon was wonderfully attentive without being overbearing or intrusive. Can't fault anything. Will definitely return and most definitely recommend to others. Beautiful restaurant with a very select clientele. Truly a nice place to visit and get away from the typical restaurants that anyone can rock up in! Very nice food too, I would recommend pretty much anything from the Indian menu.

Best meal out I’ve had in a long time! Food was really good, especially the starters. Seemed quite expensive but you get huge portions. Staff were all really great. Would definitely recommend.

Great place, good atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, and most importantly really good food. Just the right amount of fusion without losing authenticity. A nice buzz here, it seems always busy but the staff have plenty of time to look after you.

Dined here on New Years Day with family of around 8 and as always the service and food was impeccable. Never had a bad experience here since it first opened. Thoroughly recommend Moo Ping Ribs and trio of meats (or the Jungle Curry if you’re brave enough!).

First visit to this place and it’s alright. It’s very popular so booking is recommended. I am a vegetarian and whilst they say on the limited menu they can adapt, all that means is tofu, tofu and more tofu. I had 3 starters which were large portions. They recommended 3 but I was full before the main course arrived. The main I chose was pad Thai again adapted using tofu. Very tasty but by this stage I’d had enough. No desserts on menu and the coffee machine was broken. Staff were pretty good but didn’t ask once if meal was ok. My partner disliked the chicken Polynesian and didn’t finish it. Very pricey and the decor is a bit dated now.

The Taste of Bangkok platter was great except for the Moo Ping Ribs which were too chewy. Sushi was average. Sukhothai Noodle tastes authentic for Thais.Love the Zen style, vibe and music. Food came quick. Staff should stand at the front of the house to greet customers as we had to wait quite a while before being seated.I would recommend this restaurant if you like Asian/Thai food.

An excellent find on a very hot midday. Food possibly best Thai we've had for many years the special Won tun soup was quite literally a meal in a bowl! Lovely table service too.
