Afternoon Tea & Lounge - Walworth Castle Hotel in Darlington

This is a great hotel with an amazing history and cheap considering your staying in such a historic building. The evening meal was really nice and room was comfortable, modern and clean. All the staff were nice, friendly helpful and accommodating.The location is very remote but a great base to explore the North East of England.Well worth a visit

Lovely place to stay, lots to do within an hours driving (great places even closer) staff were brilliant with a special shout out to Jolene who we could have spoken to for hours getting all the stories of the place. Rooms lovely and would go back especially for the king James suite. A must for a fancy castle getaway.

Beautiful building in a lovely estate. Our four poster room was amazing, clean and tidy. The staff were all lovely and helpful and let us check out the dungeon!!!! Only thing I'd improve on the place is for them to have better beer choices.

This is a lovely converted castle with very unique architectural features. The staff were all excellent and attentive and the food was superb. The value for money was also excellent.Note that because this IS a castle, there are some uneven floors, no lift and some windows can have a small draft in very cold and windy weather. This is a "heads-up" and not a complaint from me as I thought it all added to the castle experience. If you want lifts and hermetically sealed triple glazed windows, go to a modern bland hotel!

Had a great couple of nights here. The room and food were excellent. The staff are all so very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning.

Stayed in a castle room and it was very nice but the real stars here are the staff. They were really helpfull and took a pride in the workplace. We stayed 3 nights and they made our stay special shame we could not give them 6 stars. Will stay again

Had an absolutely amazing stay at Walworth Castle. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasure. The food was exceptional. Breakfast was good but the evening meals were superb, massive compliments to the chef. The castle was beautiful inside and our. We had an amazing stay for my partners birthday and will definitely return for another stay.

Very pleasant stay. Hotel looking a little dated and room windows in need of attention. However the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was very good but my wife was disappointed in only being offered "fresh fruit salad" as a dessert option. Would certainly stay again.

We stayed at the castle for a friend’s wedding for a weekend. The hotel was so clean and our room (19) was absolutely fantastic! The bed was extremely comfortable, there was plenty of space to hang clothes and we were provided with heating as the nights were a bit chilly. The staff went above and beyond, they were friendly, helpful and so welcoming. The food (we had breakfast twice and dinner once) was delicious! Would definitely recommend!

We stayed to nights to celebrate my daughter's wedding. Our room was clean and adequate for our needs. Breakfast was excellent catering for veggies and vegans and the staff very hospitable and helpful. The wedding was amazing and Jolene and her team were on hand throughout. The waiting and bar staff were also helpful and friendly. We even managed to get some of the bar staff up for a dance after some coaxing. The whole experience was fabulous and I can't thank you all enough for making it memorable. I can't believe 10 years after celebrating her 21st there, my daughter Grace chose to have her wedding there! Well done all!
