Heighington Take Away in Darlington

We have eaten several different meals from here over the past couple of months and they all have been excellent! It’s easy to order online, but we don’t wait for the online app to tell us when the food is ready (we would still be waiting!) we just give it 15 minutes and go pick up the food. Friendly folks and fast service.

Jumbo sausages were burnt at the ends chips were cold curry was just half a tub and cold worse food I every chips looked like there been stood hours and not just cooked never go again

Ordered a food deal last Saturday and never received half of the order, called the restaurant and left messages and also left email but still no answer not good hen you pay but get no food.

Absolute joke of a place can't even answer a phone been waiting 2+ hours and still no sign never order here again and all make sure a tell everyone how absolutely rubbish yous are as well messers

Not great.... waited out side as expected, but then got moved off the pavement by the delivery driver ...at least I assume that's what she was. Chips tasted warmed and were like leather.

I've been here twice I ordered parmo salad and chips. The first time was lovely chips were soft and very nice but I had been drinking before this. The second time I had no drink and it was disgusting all went in the bin the chips looked like they been stood for hours the parmo was pink and the salad tasted funny.Drunk or sober I won't be going again.

I ordered from here as my previous order last month was excellent. It's a shame they don't provide consistent service!I ordered my food at 18:02. Still hadn't been delivered by 20:02 so tried to contact the takeaway. All I got was an automated voice stating 'this mailbox is full'!Contacted FoodHub who run their website and was told the order was on its way and that the problem was cause by an internet outage.Food finally showed up at 21:30. No apology from the driver!The food was inedible! Chips burnt and soggy. Tuna pizza that was cold and I struggled to find the Tuna! The whole meal went in the bin!All the takeaway could offer was a 10% discount! What a disgrace!This takeaway fails on customer service! No one minds a delayed order if the customer service is excellent! A phone call to explain any delays with the option to cancel would be excellent service however this didn't happen!Blaming the poor service on an internet outage is also unacceptable! All IT systems should have built in redeundancy so that in the event of a piece of equipment failing there is a working alternative until the equipment can be repaired!If there was a minus 5 star option then that is what this takeaway would be getting based on this evenings extremely poor performance!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would.My food has turned up, three hours late and two phone calls later.Driver said he had delivered the food beforehand eventhough I rang up 5 minuets after the time I was given to be delivered.I phoned up to ask them if they had received my order, was quickly passed the phone down to the delivery driver and told it had already been delivered and would be redelivered on the next delivery.Two hours later I received my order and was told by the delivery driver that I had to pay an extra £1 right there and then or wouldn't be given my order otherwise He had to pay for it, (sarcastically telling me so)My food has in no way been recooked, the chips are fried and wet and the Donna is burned to a crisp, will never EVER return.

Ordered this evening for the first time as recently moved to area. Takeaway arrived on time and everything was there. However the kebab meat it's self was uncooked/raw and literally pink. I have taken pictures of this to remind myself not to order from there again. Would not recommend at all

New staff and new chefs means the food here is much better in 2019! Julia is lovely and cares about the food quality and the customers.Service is now faster.The Chip Shop has a LONG History of over 100 years serving the locals.New chefs makes amazingly fresh tasty pizzas and the Parmo's (double decker) are magnificent!Chicken and Donner Kebabs also much fresher than last time and very tasty.Discounts available too if you ask.Chip Shop and Takeaway is getting better and better, with tasty food and some specials available.
