Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff, and reasonably priced food. Will definitely be coming again.

A good pub, with quality ales. Very clean inside with outside seating in the sun. Unfortunately the gents toilets although clean were very smelly. But overall worth a visit.

Great new menu, quick service and really tasty food. Love the new look. We will be back soon

Great traditional English food with the vibes. Food came in a massive portion and tasted amazing. Always busy on the weekends.

Visited here today on the day of their relaunch. We were lucky enough to be the first customers of the day the food was amazing and the staff were really friendly it was a great experience all round. Would highly recommend. We wish them luck in the future of their restaurant and if today is anything to go by we’re sure they’ll do really well.

After a second visit to a pub that I have liked for years, again I had to wait far too long to get served, the first visit I did wait, not this time, and other people were walking out also. It was clear there is not enough staff behind the bar, and clearly they seemed unsure as to what they were doing. I do hope this is rectified, because the majority will not wait to get served for over 10 minutes getting on for 15 minutes.

I just went in for a bite to eat with my cousin visiting from Canada today and the food and service was great, fresh food and nice drinks, the waitress was really friendly. Check it out

The exterior is a Beautiful looking pub covered in Victorian glazed tiles looking out onto the square. The interior is dark is but pleasantly welcoming . Very helpful & friendly barman / owner (?) Who informed me about the real ales on & let me try some too . All very well kept & nice .

The Hole in the Wall captures the feel of a classic pub very well. The decor and atmosphere fit in well with its location.The barman was able to recommend me just the right stout for my evening, and it was lovely to see a pub in Darlington stocking something more then ‘The Spoons Standards’.The food was good. Exactly what I would expect in quality from such a pub as this.I was well fed and watered for the price of my meal and pint. It was well worth stopping by.
