Imperial Express Cafe in Darlington

Tasty food. I had Thai curry but I should have asked for a plate as I found it difficult to eat out of the bowl. Great staff and ambience.

Wow, this place was so noisy! Went for breakfast and their table menu and laminated breakfast menus contradicted each other. I asked for no mushrooms, other half asked for no tomatoes, we both got tomatoes and no mushrooms. Spinach on the vege breakfast wasn't cooked, not sure why. Meat and Vege sausage good but poached eggs very snotty. Not cheap for breakfast, expected more for the price to be honest.

Went for breakfast recently and was disappointed. We've been many times over the years and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves each time. The quality of the food and presentation not up to its previous high standard.

Eaten here for years. I was surprised to see some poor reviews given the food is outstanding. I kind of agree with some of the comments about the service but family run is never going to have that ‘have a nice day’ corporate cheese. I like to think of it more as a highly desirable Fault Towers quirk. Highly recommended.

Stop by for a cheeky full English and a coffee. What a lovely place, the staff were amazing tended to our every need with a smile. They are all fully covid safe. The food was lovely. Perfectly poached eggs (something I'm a stickler for) and the coffee was yummy. Highly recommended.
