Origins Coffee Lounge in Darlington

Great coffee, good and fresh cakes. Lovely.

Beautiful gift shop and coffee shop. Fabulous cakes and pleasant staff.

My first visit to Origins coffee shop today. What can I say it was a lovely place to unwind and chat to friends. It is spotlessly clean. Beautifully decorated. Lovely staff. The shop has some beautiful pieces of homeware and hand crafted chocolates also. My mouth was watering. I'm a vegan and I was unable to have a slice of the beautiful cakes on display, initially this was very disappointing, however Darren the owner, surprised me with free, suitable for vegan, raspberry chocolates as a gesture of good will, I've got to say they were beautiful. If you're a vegan or not, please give them a try, you won't regret it. He was very interested in getting my opinion on the chocolates and was pleasantly surprised at my enthusiastic response. We also discussed vegan cakes that would suit both vegan and non vegan palates. Suggestions were made and he was receptive to the idea of stocking vegan products. How lovely to be met with such enthusiasm. Thank you Darren, I came away with a smile. 😊

Lovely coffee shop very clean, and staff very friendly and helpful, cakes look delicious my partner had the chocolate orange cake he said it was one of the best cakes he had ever had, I chose the cheese scone, lovely and light, and it was warmed up for me, lovely, and a lovely atmosphere a pleasure to sit and enjoy after busy morning shopping.

Awesome place fantastic coffee and cakes 👍👍👍👍

Carrot cake was fabulous, good coffee too .

Briliant, excellent coffee and very friendly service

As always clean neat, and tidy. Warm welcome coffee was very good as was my raseberry tart the berries were fresh and slightly tart. Shared my table with a very nice couple...We all agreed 5 stars were reduced to 3...just . Because to interupt your customers in conversation and ask them to pay the bill before they have finished is not done, better to allow them to request the bill when they are ready, is the polite norm. Of course I shall go back!!

A lovely relaxing atmosphere even with covid restrictions in place. Felt very safe. Staff were very kind, courteous & professional. Coffee & tea & scones, delicious. Will definitely return. My friend & I had not met up since late February. The staff never once showed impatience that we occupied the table for so long. Thankyou so much.

Felt a bit disorganised...shown to our seats but not told to have a look at the cakes in the display or that the coffee list is on the wall and therefore no menu, so needed to don masks again and have a look. However coffee was good and cake delicious!
