The Old Farmhouse in Darlington

Late booking for an early Sunday Lunch. We were welcomed at the door and shown to our table by Debbie. From there on the service was fantastic. Warm and friendly with some great recommendations for food selection, this member of staff is a credit to you. Food was fresh and very tasty, and very well presented.Next visit will be for a weekend brunch. The early menu looks great. Thanks again.!

Food was beautiful. Small menu, but just as hearty and fulfilling as you'd like from a pub that claims to be a Farmhouse. Which it bloody was!!! The drinks menu was quite varied and catered for most tastes I reckon. I had a rhubarb cider. Noice!!! The interior itself felt really comforting and homely. Thoroughly recommend...

A nice country pub, with good friendly service. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. It is wise to book ahead (on the app) if wishing to visit on a weekend as is usually quite busy.

Nice little pub. A decent range of alcohol options.Well maintained, clean and cleverly lit with low pendant lighting and wall sconces to make it cozy.We stopped in for food on a Thursday evening around 8:30pm. Slightly later than the staff ideally wanted, and it showed. They wanted to be cleaned up and closed down and away home, which you can't blame them for, but with 30 minutes left of serving food, it did still feel like we were being rushed out of the door for food and drinks.Food itself was pretty decent, nice pub food selection, competently executed. Seems to have some nice outdoor space, though a January night was not a time to explore that option.Closer to 3.5 than 4 stars really, but perhaps the welcome is warmer when you're arriving at a more convenient time for the staff.

Most amazing food and lovely surroundings, the only draw back was the young waiter who kept people waiting for drinks and was too busy trying to sort to many other tables.

In short a homely, welcoming establishment. Staff are really friendly, and always provide service with a smile. The food is top-notch and a great variety of wines, spirits and beers and definitely good value for money. Fast becoming a regular visit after a hard day's work, and is probably the reason for my expanding chubness'. 😁

Lovely lunch. Took my best friend and her dog. Cosy, comfortable atmosphere next to an open log fire. Perfect in every way. Fab food, exceptional service. We will defo be returning again very soon.

Very warm and cozy old fashioned pub with plenty of open homely fires. Dog friendly. Staff very polite and make you feel very welcome and the food is always spot on with every effort made to meet people's individual requirements

Friend booked for us to meet for lunch. She chose from festive menu while I chose trio of roasts from main menu. Quality and quantity of food wonderful. Service excellent and waiter was entertaining. Will definitely go again.

GREAT FOOD BUT DREADFUL SERVICEWe arrived at the restaurant asked for a table for 2 where told to take a seat anywhere we liked, once we found a table we took a seat and waiting about 20 minutes but no server come over to take any drinks order or anything, I finally when up to the bar and asked who seemed to be the manger if it was table service who replied it might be easier if you order hear as if doing table was an inconvenience for her, when I replied I wasn’t sure what my friend was having she then replied she would get someone to come over, we then waited another 10 minutes for someone to come and take our order, the food was GREAT but the service was dreadful we will try The Tawny Owl next time
