The Talbot in Darlington

Really nice interior of the pub but if it’s nice and sunny, bag yourself a Talpod outside. Great little pods with a patio heater inside. Well worth a visit.

Lovely meal, welcoming staff & very good service, we hadn't booked & it was already busy for early evening, good value from the 2-3 course meal deal(£16-20), bottle of wine was lovely but bit more than we would usually pay @£24. Very good evening, we will go back & recommend to go give it a try

Absolutely fantastic. Service and food was best we've had in ages. Staff looked after 12 of us on new years day and all of us said the food was fantastic. 10/10

Customers should be aware that this pub hosts the South Durham Hunt. If you’re at all concerned about the way in which hunts continue to actively hunt foxes under the guise of “trail hunting” you might want to consider booking elsewhere, or at least asking the owners not to continue their support

Lovely Sunday lunch have to wait a little but I think that's because everything is fresh, would recommend.

Someone put a fork in me.....I'm done!!! What a meal that was. Everything beautifully cooked. Everything tasty. Really enjoyed it. Give this place a visit. The chef's a talent.

Absolutly perfect, best meal out by far in a very long while. Lovely attentive service, excellent food and drinks. All 4 of us loved every single course and we each chose differently. Will be back & could very well be our new favourite place to eat out.

Popped here for an afternoon late lunch/early dinner. Four adults and a little dog - all made very welcome. The staff could not have been welcoming of the four legged guest (we chose the pods outside but there’s a ‘snug’ inside). We went with the special menu and the starters, mains and desert were all lovely. Service was really friendly and they got the pace perfect for us. Will definitely be back and absolutely recommend.

We have recently had a Sunday lunch at the Talbot and the overall experience was excellent. The staff were pleasent and warming, the food was lovely. We both had the trio of meats and it was fantastic. Very well done to you all. We certainly will be back again to enjoy your hospitality.

Staff were really friendly and helpful, the starters my wife and I had were lovely, however the Talbot 8oz beef burger was not great, the first burger was under cooked and was taken back by the waitress. I was told it was the bacon in the burger that was the pink part. I was brought a second Talbot 8oz beef burger from the kitchen and it was no different really, but I was told that it was a homemade burger that's why it was pink. In my opinion it tasted nothing like a beef burger homemade or not!!! We both had the lemon cheesecake for dessert which was really nice. I must admit the staffs attitude towards us did change by the end of the night after complaining about the food. Very over priced pub food at the end of the day.
