Bensham fish bar in Gateshead

Always amazing, lush chip shop. Friendly staff, always ordered every weekend. Moved back to jarrow and I still travel up for food. I’d put a 100 star review if possible. ☺️

After reading the reviews I decided to try this place for the first timeWhat canFish and chips were so delicious.The kebab was spot on.The garlic sauce perfectStaff were really friendly and politeDefinitely returning again. :)

Good chip butties, large portions, cheap prices

Ordered food at 6:32 told 1 hour delivery max. Hadn't arrived by 7:50 so called back and was told he's on the other side of the estate. Still not here by 8:10 and told again he will be 5 minutes. Finally arrived at 8:13. Food was stone cold. My pizzas in the freezer were warmer. Only person excited to see the delivery was the dog.No apology from the driver just shrugged and left.

I had my delivery, delivered befor the stated time which was fab but when I took the food out the two pies were cold in the middle. Chips where still hot which was good but disappointed that the pies were not. So did not enjoy it

absolutely horrible food , I ordered a margarita pizza with onion but asked for extra tomato puree on the base , it came with hardly any puree on the base and the base was soggy, my girlfriend ordered a medium kebab with salad and garlic sauce but what she got was a kebab wrap , needless to say we will never be ordering from bensham fish bar again , oh and the food was cold when it arrived 😭😭😭

I would give it 4 for taste but 1 for scimpiest kebab meat on a pizza. £5.80 for a 10 inchRIP.Won't be back.

Their fish is out of this world. Chips like none I have ever tasted. Really wowed by this place. Mushy peas are so good they taste unmushed. 5*

Chips average, the mince pies often smell off and a few times I got massive lumps in them (not minced as they should me but chopped). It's my closest chip shop so I go weekly. Don't buy the pies, I keep giving them chance after chance but I'm always left, chucking it in the bin. Yet to try anything else.
