Always lush food - fresh and tasty

Good value for money as portion size is good. Best day to visit is a Friday as fish is well drained before you get it. Other times fish is served straight from fryer so can be greasy when you get it home.Update June 22..Prices have increased and portion size have reduced but still good value. Fish and Chips currently £7.60.

Was passing Winlaton yesterday lunchtime and called in here for a bite to eat, I noticed the lunchtime specials and ordered the kebab butty with chilli.On opening I was amazed by the portion size and the look of the quality. I’ve never tasted chilli sauce like this from a chippy, they’re usually bland red gloop but this was something else! It looks like it contained freshly cut green chillis and tasted superb. The kebab meat and chips were also superb.I’ll defiantly be trying with this again or the fish and chips the next time I pass after reading the other reviews.

Omg the fish and chips is to dye for, The fish is like a whale and you get enough chips for 2 people, Definitely reccomend 👍

Half decent chippy but when you go 20 minutes before closing you get told they’re no longer frying anything? So make sure you go a good hour before the closing time actually says.. ridiculous lost custom.

Absolute diamond of a place ..or plaice. Haggis is amazing ..portion sizes cud feed a small family very friendly i always use this when working doon south

Portions are enormous, fish is lovely- just needs a bit of a rethink on how to serve in C19 times, the queue is unnecessarily long- let people order then wait rather than wait-order-wait

Good batter. Well cooked fish. Good chips. Good portion size. Best mushy peas I've had.Loses a star for only accepting cash. I didn't like using cash before the pandemic. I'm even more reluctant now.
