Dunston Golden Chippy in Gateshead

The fish & chips are excellent quality, good size portions and very good value.The pizzas are fantastic as well, I would highly recommend this place.

Ordered two cod n chips & fish cake. The fish cake was ok. The cod was swimming in oil and the batter was like a brick. Chips were stone cold. Totally wasted my money, Never again

Don't know what's happened to this chip shop. Two cod and chips....batter was hard and greasy. Fish dry and tasteless inside. Waste of money. Chips were almost like re-fries. Won't be buying from there again.

The chicken shawarma was a battered chicken breast with the texture of a plymsole. When I called the shop they refused to consider the criticism and fobbed me off. They suggested I complain via just eat. As a regular customer I found this attitude rather rude and felt undervalued as a customer. For this reason I will not use them again. Goodbye Dunston Chilpy

Lovely little chippy. Portions are a really good size and the prices or very reasonable. Very friendly staff, can be a queue at time but that goes to show how nice it is. You can park just outside the shop. Even though it is a pizza shop you may think if your a vegetarian you can't go your wrong. They do a good range of pizzas and fried food suitable for vegetarians. All I can say is give it a go and see what you think.

Absolutely foaming. Paid £15 for two burgers and chips. Chips were half cold... Burgers were COMPLETELY inedible. Have pics and video of them completely rigid and burnt. Due for delivery in an hour and still ten minutes late. Not impressed at all.

Bought fish and chips, spam fritter and chips. Drove home and had to put in oven for 20 minutes. Fish and fritter were stodgy batter. On the plus side the servings were massive. Probably because no one is purchasing. I would never go back. It went in the bin, I could not even give it to the dog. DON'T BOTHER!!

I’d rate 6 stars if I could. Bloke in there is as hard working as they come and food always tastes delicious. More than reasonably priced and when I get delivery the food arrives piping hot and in no time at all.I had a 14 inch pepperoni pizza and the wife had a kebab and said it’s the best she’s had in years. Will be ordering again next week.

The food there is good quality and the price is good too, but there's times where it's really hit and miss. I had a long kebab on a naan bread and the meat was delicious but the naan bread was mouldy and let the whole thing down.It feels like there's a bit of a slack that needs picking up in maintaining quality

Food is generally OK, very large portions (which may be considered good or bad depending on your point of view) but the do have a tendency to get your order wrong. They really need to start writing orders down if they can't remember an order from when you enter the shop to when you collect it.
