L 'Oliva Verde in Gateshead

A restaurant that feels exclusive every time I go. A secret location at the back of the Pelaw inn and up the stairs always adds to the experience!Great service, with proper Italian cuisine.The restaurant has come a long way since my first visit as the crockery, cutlery and furniture have improved vastly. Can't wait to see the balcony expansion... 10/10!

Lovely attentive staff in a place which is a local staple. We had a lovely time and it's conveniently located above a pub with good atmosphere and live music. The food is good, especially for the price. We would definitely recommend for a convinient meal out if in Pelaw.

First time at this fantastic restaurant. Everything was perfect. The restaurant itself was beautiful, the staff professional and so friendly and the food - well it was superb. The quality, the presentation and the taste was excellent. Will be back qnd on a regular basis. 10/10

The only thing that may put some people off is to gain entry to this restaurant is though the bar, but don’t be put of bar staff where very helpful pointing us in the right direction and once upstairs food and staff where lovely. To give an idea of pricing we had two starters two mains and two drinks for just under £40 I would differently go again 😋😋

Another excellent meal at L'Olive Verdi. Great menu, great food and great service. So lucky to have a restaurant like this in Pelaw.

Ordered a takeaway meal this evening to pick up from the restaurant. Staff were lovely and friendly and very welcoming as I waited for the food to be prepared. When I arrived home realised that my order was incorrect so rang the restaurant straight away, my issue was dealt with straight away and in a very professional manner, the staff couldn't have been nicer so thanks. By the way the food was lovely and hot and also very tasty. Thanks again

Went for Sunday lunch. Roast pork and roast beef portions were very good. I didn't mention at the time but thought the vegetables side was a bit sparse for 2 people, although everything was very tasty. Would definitely go back

We had a 70th birthday celebration here for our friend there were 12 if us. As always the food/service was excellent they accommodated all our request e.g. adding anchovies, olives & capers to some pizzas changes to types of accompanying pasta etc. Thank you Magdelena and your staff for a wonderful experience x.

Me and my partner went to L'Olive Verdi for the first Time today.We had both heard great things about the place and as a birthday lunch, we thought it's the perfect time to go.Nothing short of amazing, from starter to desert. I love a rare/blue steak, but find very little places can offer that way of cooking outside big steakhouses, but my word, by far the nicest blue fillet steaks I have had. It was cooked to perfection, so much so the price just didn't seem right (under £17) when most places charge £20+ to cook it in the way they like.My partner had the calamari for starters, which again, cooked amazingly, none of this frozen out of a packet rubbish. Then followed by the chicken with peppercorn sauce (I forget the Italian name of it) lush! Everything was just so tasty, fresh and hot.The service itself was amazing, super friendly, and really she couldn't have gone out of her way more.Desert had to be done, even though by that point we're being greedy, it was worth the greed, the only downside, not having been able to eat more :)
