Maguires in Gateshead

Brilliant food and service! We ordered through UberEats and two items were not sent. Rang Maguires and explained and the guy was so nice and asked if I wanted a refund (we actually needed the items as they were someone’s tea) and when I said no he was more than happy to drop them off himself and did so swiftly and was so apologetic.Thank you!

Pretty good tbh,,, could do with Gluten free on other days as well as Thursday,, but we're grateful for Fish (gf) Thursdays.Great service 👍👍👍👍👍

Used to love this place but recently it’s gone down hill, place looks dirty, bins overflowing outside with rubbish everywhere.Price lists above fryer are dirty and grubby.Last two times I’ve been in and on both occasions two separate ladies serving were eating near the till neither bothered to wash their hand whilst preparing my food. ( kebab and salad).It bothers me that they don’t respect hygiene on the outside…… what’s inside like!

Fish was nice and hot but chips were only warm. The fish had been cooked fresh but seems the chips had been maybe cooked earlier.

Decent little eatery in Swalwell. The seating area is nicely laid out, but it's a little basic. The lady who served me was very helpful. I only had curry and chips, and a can of pop, but the food was decent.

Just bought our dinner from here today as our local chippy was closedQuite possibly the worst fish and chips I've ever hadFish was all mushy served in a polystyrene trayChips were stuck together and gritty and the curry sauce was watery and tastelessDeffo would not recommend

Can't fault the food or the portions sizes - it was huge and really nice. However the place needs a deep clean, the resturant was rather mucky and it was very off putting. The restaurant door was propped open too with all takeway customers adjacent to our table, we wouldn't return to the restaurant but would order from the takeaway again.Prices are canny too, especially with the large portion sizes.

Went here for the 1st time after looking at their menu online. Ordered Squid rings which are described as 6 in a portion. On getting home i find 4 in the box, on calling them im told the portion is only 3 pieces. Obviously they do not appear to know what they are doing, no apology just that they'll speak to the owner. I know what im doing, i won't be returning. P. S. they are very greasy

Not as good as it used to be. Fish and chips were served separately in small polystyrene boxes. This then caused both to be squashed and soggy just over a minute later in the car. Won't repeat
