Milligans Bakery in Gateshead

I always stop there with my peers whenever it is raining (which, lets be honest, it does a lot) for a nice warm sausage roll (which are, arguably, much better than Greggs) and sometimes a peach melba - specifically, a very tasty peach melba. The selection of drinks are always good and the dining area is cozy and clean, with a nice pseudo-modern design. Staff is always quick to get my order and always pleasant.

Cornish-type pasties brilliant. Husband says the scotch pies are as good as the best in Scotland.

The bread and pastries at Milligan’s Whickham in my opinion are the Best in the area.Also the staff are really efficient and friendly too especially the manager Susan.I wouldn’t go anywhere else because of this.

Absolutely atrocious scotch pie, no taste at all and a really sloppy texture. Only went in to try the kebab and chilli pasties they had on special., But on asking they had none ready, why bother put an offer on if you don't keep the food stocked??? My dad worked for Milligan's many moons ago as a baker and would be ashamed of the junk they're peddling now. Should have gone 2 doors down to Gregg's, even their bland sausage rolls have more flavour than a Milligan's scotch pie. Will not be returning

Sorry but waiting for 15 minutes while the lady serving did other jobs isn't good service. Ordered bacon & egg with coffee to sit inside. Ended up dispite repeating order more than once with over cooked egg wrapped up to take out and no coffee. Very disappionted.

Exceptional in every way. Bread, cakes, teacakes fresh, and the best we've had. Croissants rival those in France.

Excellent quality. Sour dough in particular.
