Petros Restaurant in Gateshead

Lovely food and reasnoble price. Now providing a takeaway delivery service. Lovely helpful staff.Only negative it shares a car park which was full. Had to be dropped off with elderly disabled dad hubby had to find somewhere to park and catch us up.

Went today and have to say ...not the most comfortable place to eat ...never got a hello or goodbye and in all our time there, we were never made to feel welcomed or at home...now to the food.... disgusting... absolutely horrid. Wife's Bolognese had a horrible taste which I could not tell you what it is as I've never tasted or want to taste again...now to mine...a pizza...can't really go wrong with a pizza ...can you...oh yes you can...had to be the thinest most lacking of toppings I've ever seen ...and lacking flavour don't even think my dog would like and he eats anything....good tip for anybody...avoid...avoid..AVOID!!!!!!!!!!Would have put a no star down but you can't ...but it's definitely not worth any stars

Good atmosphere and food was delicious. Pasta dishes were all well presented and full of flavour. Soulvaki was spot on and the mixed grill was scrumptious.Thank you Petros. Would recommend and we will return.

Nice relaxed restaurant, friendly staff and food was decent. We weren't that keen on the gyros but we are definitely going to return to try some other dishes. It's good that you can bring your own wine - they've also got my fave draught so will be going without the car next time! 😁

Visited Petros for the first time and it was very good experience. Tried Halloumi and two Lamb dishes. Everything was served fast and it was very tasty. Affordable prices too and friendly staff. Deffo will come back.

10 of us went for an anniversary celebration. We all chose the 3 course special and the choices of meals are extensive. Despite the large number of us, our food came out quickly and each dish was really enjoyed by each diner. Petros has a great team of staff who looked after us well. Their Greek and Italian dishes are delicious and the restaurant has a vibrant and buzzing atmosphere. Fantastic venue. Well done.

Really underwhelmed after visiting Petros. Staff and atmosphere was nice although we had to move seat as the bulb above us was flickering. The let down was the food, it was very average. My starter of calamari was overcooked and very rubbery with a side of garlic sauce in a styrofoam carton, then my main meal had a nice sauce but the chicken had a texture like it had been boiled rather then grilled or cooked in the oven. It would have been nice to have it served with some sort of veg or salad but it doesn't come with anything. My wife was also disappointed with her meal as the chicken had very little flavour. It was all edible but I don't think we'll be returning.

Great place to visit. Friendly staff. Amazing food. Affordable prices. You wont be disappointed.Update. After great experience went for a meal again and I was dissapointed. Same meal "mixed grill" looks different and not same amount as before. Some types of meat were missing. Taste nice but I was still hungry. ☹️

Well first time here , shame all of the menu wasn't available, but for a set menu price it was certainly a great deal. Prices weren't mega expensive and offered a great mix of Greek and Italian dishes. Get the handle sorted and the lock fixed in the gents and it will be even better.. 😊😊.Go give it a try. I'll definitely be back.I want some orange filo cake..Great staff too..
