River Beat in Gateshead

Private dining experience at the River Beat. Location is spectacular. Outdoor terrace with absolutely amazing views.Mojito gets a solid 7.5/10 let down by ice cubes instead of crushed ice.Food is Asian fusion really well presented with attention to detail.With the private dining experience they brought multiple dishes all amazing. Bold flavours, chilli never over powering. The stand out dish was the crispy belly pork.The staff are amazing, so friendly, polite and couldn't do enough.Lovely little gem on the Gateshead side highly recommended

Restaurant was very nice with a lovely location, the staff managed to squeeze us in before our show at the sage. We had a nice selection from main and side dishes. The food quality was lovely but very highly priced for what it was and we weren't 100% satisfied with the portions-vs-cost. Just to clarify, we weren't expecting piles of food, but it was quite steeply priced. The additional 10% discretionary tip automatically added that was actually 13% wasn't justified on this occasion.

Absolute hidden gem. Food is amazing and espresso martinis top notch. Gorgeous decor and friendly knowledgeable staff. Will recommend to anyone who will listen. New fave place.

Last month I was invited to try the food River Beat and it did not disappoint. The venue is situated on Gateshead’s quayside within a stone’s throw from the Swing Bridge allowing amazing riverside views of Newcastle’s iconic bridges from their beautiful terrace. River Beat specialises in award winning Asian tapas and curries in a quirky setting with relaxed fun vibes. I was lucky enough to try all the below dishes to get a great feel for variety of what they have to offer. The dishes were immense and with so many fresh flavours in each. I still honestly cannot decide which was my favourite!Thai Salmon fish cakes with sweet red chilli jamTempura soft shelled crab with seaweed & singer saladChar Sui Pork with green nasi gorengMalay lamb vindaloo with a dry coconut chutney & Thai Jasmine ricePork & Prawn steamed dumplins with schezuan dipAsian spiced lamb with Chinese pancakesRiver beat offers an extremely enjoyable experience. They have clearly put a lot of effort into perfecting their selection of dishes and creating a great a welcoming environment to ensure you cannot wait for your next visit…my recommendation is to bring as many people with you when you do so you get to try as many dishes as possible !!

Really good Asian fusion tapas with a great atmosphere and music. They some unusual dishes - the banana blossom was amazing - and the tapas was very reasonably priced. Would absolutely go again. (We didn't have any ourselves but the cocktails looked pretty good too).

Fantastic experience, fine dining and a lot of very helpful advice regarding options. There were three of us and even though some of the tapas were for two it was no trouble to make these up to a third helping.Food was delicious and the cocktails and gins were equally as good.This is fine dining at the right price if you're expecting a cheap night out this isn't for you!

Great atmosphere, superb food and s great location. This is definitely a restaurant to keep going back to. The Asian fusion menu is inventive and delicious. Great tapas and Malaysian inspired curries

Absolutely brilliant. Great dining experience. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food all tasted amazing, the scallops and pork belly were particular favourites. We will definitely be back.

The food here was easily 5 stars, so I've given it however pricing was expensive. I absolutely love Thai curry and this place does them to perfection so was really pleased. Cozy atmosphere, and the staff were great really friendly and polite. I'd come again but maybe only for a special occasion. Thank you for the lovely food 👍😀👌
