We have used Bensham Tandoori for years, but we will be looking for a new Indian takeaway. Food has been very hit and miss recently, items missing, food late. We understand that during lockdown they may have been busier, but our meal tonight was almost an hour late and it was cold, not even warm, it was actually cold.

Food is unbelievable! I personally wouldn't use anywhere else. They always have fantastic offers on and there's always plenty of food to go around. My favourite is the mega box with masala sauce

Utter waste of time, we ordered just after 8pm food delivered just before 10pm... with bits missing! We had a 40% off offer to use and genuinely wasn't worth the money even with the discount. Called up a few times regarding our order pretty much fobbed off and rudely hung up on.Our Order:Lamb Tikka Kathmandu -Worst Lamb I've had in a while about 70% gristle. The Sauce seemed to be pretty much chopped tomatoes wiht a few whole chillis thrown in, no flavour at all. no heat, no spice and certainly no ginger. Had upgraded this using their go large option, seems to mean more sauce and thats it.The Garlic Pilau you'd think would be easy to get right.. tasted of ..... rice! no visible garlic in it either, maybe this was wrong alsoThe Chicken Korma was ok but no better than a shop bought sauce, nothing special.Think the nicest thing out of the lot was the onion salad.Doubt we'll go back far better indian takeaways and restaurants in Whickham, I recommend you checkout Jamdani!

A very friendly place with lovely food! They do a really creamy and coconutty korma, tasty egg pilau and generously-sized naan, enough for leftovers. I can't afford takeaway very often so this is always a big treat when I can order.

The food is definitely NOT Indian! I ordered Jalfrezi Chicken which was just tomato sauce with chicken, no spices and definitely not spicy. Actually, I ordered a few more other dishes and none of them were spicy. The Chicken Makhani was very sweet, more like a dessert. I had Indian food and India and other places in Asia. Indian food is spicy or at least flavoured. The Garlic Naan was alright, except it didn't have any garlic on it. The food is not bad, but it's not what you expect to eat.
