Really nice panini's for lunch. Piping hot food. Could sit outside and enjoy the weather & there were plenty of water bowls and fresh water for the dogs. Ideal to sit and recover if you've walked the red kite trail.

Sunday dinner- Belly pork absolutely gorgeous.- Yorkshire very dry.- mash nice.- roasties cold.- veggies steamed or something wasn't that nice served in a separate dish.. why?- gravy was cold and not enough of it.Pepsi served in a dirty glass. Didn't realise till I was half way, I was drinking from a straw.Experience with the staff was a little cold to we came through the door and weren't greeted but was greeted with dirty looks. Once we found a seat (without a reservation on the table) we were asked to move but weren't showed to another table were we could go to. Made feel utterly uncomfortable and really like my custom wasn't wanted.Unfortunately I won't be dining there again but good luck to who does hope you have a better time then me only good this is the foods cheap and the beers on tap. The menu didn't have the prices on and we had to go up to the bar for the bill. There was so many staff in yet when you were done they didn't care we could of left without paying..

Great quality food but long wait from ordering till food arrived , like 40 mins & lomgvwsit from ordering drinks til they arrived. Customer Service OK but some staff looked like 'rabbits caught in headlights'. Young & inexperienced I suspect. Having said that I would def return.

Excellent dog friendly pub with amazing pies. I was a little disappointed the Chicken Balti pie wasn’t available so went for the Chicken, Ham & Leek pie instead. Probably means I’ll have to go back again 😀The pies do take 30 minutes to cook, which we didn’t mind, but it’s good to know that ahead of visiting if you are in a rush. They’re worth the wait!

First visit and won't be the last. Amazing food, best meal I've had in a while. Great service in a beautiful place.

The red kite is a lovely pub restaurant along the derwent river walk. The pub itself has a nice feel/atmosphere and it has a nice selection of ales which I love. The restaurant areas are nice and you can have food both indoors and ourdoors which is great especially in the summer. They're dog friendly too which is great.I've always found the food to be great but the last few occasions they've not been able to serve everything on the menu and you're not told until you try to order. It's not a massive deal but would be easier if they told you when you're seated to save any messing.Overall, the safe are nice and friendly and do a good job.

Came in for some lunch after a walk along the River Derwent. Customer service was average. I ordered the burger with the the onion rings and disappointingly they were raw. But apart from that the food was okay. I think it was a little bit overpriced for what it was compared to other pubs in the area. Someone else had the Chicken Tikka Masala and that was definitely microwaved. There also wasn't any sanitising stations. I did really like the decor on the interior it had a nice rustic feel to it. I also liked the garden space out the back.
