The Tudor Rose & Mamma Rosa Italian Restaurant in Gateshead

Sunday lunch was lovely. Wide selection of veg huge yorkshire pud, plenty of meat and gravy. Our Granddaughters meals were just smaller portions of ours. We all had a desert which finished the meal off. Staff were friendly and food was served quickly. We will definately be back.

Very nice food , and nice surrounding if a little noisy but nice experience will be back.

Update. Delicious food, great atmosphere with extremely friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Lush food and amazing service as always 😀 new staff member what a lovely attentive girl so good as noticing we were warm so turned heating down and was just a lovely, polite and helpful person

A fairly poor experience unfortunately.1) A dish ordered as GF was brought out with bread on it. When this was pointed out the dish was taken away and the same dish brought back with crumbs all over it.2) Some of the waiting staff were very helpful and friendly, others were sullen and didn't seem interested.3) One staff member told a member of our party to "Watchyourself" as they reached over them for a dish. Not very professional.4) The only thing that some of the staff were concerned with was taking glasses away as soon as possible. They clearly don't have enough glasses.

Food was wonderful the service was great even though they were busy. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend it. Will be going back again soon.

The 1 star is for the food. The staff we're lovely however we chose Italian as we love garlic. The garlic bread with cheese also had no garlic on either. Very disappointed and considering it was Happy hour it was very expensive

Costly but nice food. They catered for us last minute and gluten free. Works out about £45 per person for 3 courses and a drink. I'll definitely go back but maybe hit a happy hour. The staff were absolutely lovely, food came quickly. The place was busy but we didn't wait. Really impressed.

We made a booking for afternoon tea; upon arrival we were brought an arrangement of very poor quality shop-bought scones, small cakes and sandwiches. The sandwiches were dry, mainly mayonaise with the addition of chicken and egg - this came as a surprise as one of us was vegetarian and at no point had we been given the choice of a vegetarian option When we queried this with staff, we were told we should've specified this at the time of booking and "if necessary, 'chef', will prepare a vegetation option'. It is my observation that this preparation would've involved cutting off the crusts from poor quality supermarket bread and dousing it in mayonaise.Despite the restaurant being empty, after waiting 10 minutes we realised hot drinks and preserves were not going to arrive and had to chase these up. Attached images are a sample of the food we were given which would ordinarily have cost £17 per person. Very disappointing and will not be returning.EDIT: The restaurant has since contacted me privately and provided a full refund and voucher for a future visit - this is more than fair and appreciated.
