Nice walk, if you go early you have a good chance if spotting the local deer, have also seen a fox and loads of Grey Squirrel. Bluebell's beautiful around May, currently loads of Foxgloves, wild Roses and Honeysuckle.

Had a great walk around the woods today, I really loved the carvings and amount of fungi we seen, at the end we popped into the cafe for a bacon sandwich and a coffee, not kidding one bit here or exaggerating in any way when i say I just had the nicest bacon sandwich I've ever had (that I did not make myself), the bacon was high quality and there was loads in too, the buns were delicious and everything was just right, add on that a warm welcome and great service from the person running the cafe, such a refreshing experiences πŸ˜€ please check my most recent review before this one to understand what I am talking about there 🀐

Great place to go waking, lots of trails to pick from , sculpture trail is good , short with lots of carved sculptures to look out for , cafe does great bacon butties and hot chocolate, other snacks and drinks available.

Very friendly visitor centre with good selection of food. Seats outside, dogs welcome. Limited parking. We probably only did a quarter of the walks on offer from this point. We did the river walk and sculpture trail for about 3 hours, good places along the river for children to get down and plodge. Other walks are signposted so we will definitely return.

A total gem. Very reasonable and lovely food in the cafe, and some free trails for the kids to pick up to help them engage in the walks- spotting leaves, insects and animal prints. Great way to access some of the derwent walk.
