reasonable priced food curry is quite hot for Chinese

I've been coming to this Chinese takeaway since I was a teenager and I'm now in my 40s! It never fails to deliver delicious food, even though management has changed over the years. They do the tastiest chips ever.Even though I now live a few miles away, Wrekenton Chop Suey House is still our go - to for Chinese takeaways, and we get one on a regular basis.

Oozing Cheesey omelette is delicious. Unfortunately when u share and cut in half. One get more than the other. Spare ribs were lovely but unusual. Come in a tray full of little square ribs. Beautiful Cantonese sauce. Chips were nice n soft. Took a star off because the veg rolls arrived soggy. They come in a tin foil n lid which don't help to keep them crispy.

Lovely fresh, tasty food , good prices . Great staff

I used to order from here all the time haven't for a while got one tonight and can't believe how much the food has changed it was disgusting never again put me off totally

Worst ever had chicken all black don't even think was chicken dog food that's been nice

Usually a good service but to send food out cold because you ‘gave the driver too many deliveries’ is totally unacceptable not to mention inedible! Absolutely disgusted with the offer of £5 off my next order after spending £18 on food that went in the bin!

Never had a bad experience from here.. fab real chips.. fried rice is good with a decent amount of egg in it unlike some others. Curry tastes good.

Ordered my favourite, fried onion rings, normally made with fresh sliced onion dipped in batter and fried, today they were the frozen mini breadcrumb ones with minced onion in, cooked to within an inch of their lives, they were awful and the chips were dark brown and very very greasy. Very disappointed tonight.

The best Chinese takeaway in the Washington/Gateshead area in terms of food quality. Would be a 5 had the delivery service been good and had we not ordered on 2020 Christmas eve. We were left waiting 40 minutes in the cold outside the shop, after being told our food was running late, with no update as to how long the order would take. They clearly took on far too many orders for the night. There was numerous customers who experienced the same. I would avoid on peak days, we will be. The food however will keep us going back.
