Zizzi - Metro Centre in Gateshead

It's freshly prepared but it is very salty. We order a short rib and a white sauce paster for the main dishes and both have too much salt. Service is poor, it's not even busy time but our food were waiting on the pass for a long time before they are delivered to us. My partner dropped the knife on the floor and made a big sound, the waitress walked by and decided to ignore it.

3 stars for the staff... 2 blanks for the dish my food was served on! A wooden board with a split down the centre and wood was actually cutting off with my knife as I cut my food open!Its well know in the food industry that it is no longer hygienic to use wooden boards as the hold so many bacteria. So that is me with tummy rot tomorrow, I was in really good company enjoying our day together with my daughter. I didn't want to spoil it with a negative comment about my food. But, there was a big fat negative for it the way it was served!!I have to admit the staff were so friendly (apart from a young woman who cleared the wooden platters away for us. When I made a comment that the watery juice from the Calzone had gone right through onto the table and made a mess, she did state that she'd be back to clean it up as it was right across the table (not a little spill) she didn't return to clean it so I had to try and clean it up myself as we finished or drinks up).Lovely place, food served on these wooden boards is old fashioned and unhygienic, staff are friendly and attentive. Glasses for drinks immaculate.

Always have a great time when we come. Servers are amazing, food is great and the price isn’t bad for what you get.

Due to poor health this was our first day out for three months and decided to have lunch in Zizzi as we had never eaten here before. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very nice and tasty. Thank you to the management for the kindness shown to my family.

We had a great visit. We have two autistic boys, one with fairly extreme food issues and the staff were so accommodating without us needing to say anything. Both servers were so friendly and chatty without being oppressive and our experience really helped turn around a difficult day.The food was good, too 😁

Food was excellent and the service was great. We had trouble with the online ordering due to no fault but our own and the gentleman serving us was very helpful in resolving the issue. We were served by David at the MetroCentre branch and the service was amazing.

Ordered Rustica Margarita and Casareccia Pollo Piccante. Food was nice not like always and either pizza sauce was finished or they were saying bucks. For service there were only two people and person serving us was kinda arrogant. They charge you optional tip in cheque and on the other hand we were not satisfied with the service. Hence, end up paying that also.

Food was actually excellent and we did enjoy the meal, the place isn't kid friendly though, the staff were really helpful and you can see into the open kitchen, would have been good to choose a seat up stairs over looking the centre but looked like that was reserved for overspill. We used a coupon which was actually the same price as the menu so was feeling a little duped there.

Came here for dinner as the food is nice and good selection of gluten free dishes. The majority of the staff are friendly and helpful. Bar one older woman who just appears to wander aimlessly about and is uninterested in any of your requirements; from seating you or even the offer of a menu and has actually put me off from returning by her whole demeanour.It is also very cold in this restaurant, at this time of year I don’t think it’s necessary to have the air conditioning on!?
