Great place. Great Burger with fantastic onion rings and the tastiest chips ever. I shall go back as soon as l can . Menu is not a mile long but will meet most needsComfortable surroundingsSpacious with good furnishings and good service

Really good homemade chips. I have tryed hotshot parmo and normal parmo, today the burger all been really good. I have tryed breakfast full English wasn't worth it for me as I halfed the breakfast size. sausage, black pudding wasn't the best quality hash browns needed longer. bacon was lovely very good quality. eggs over cooked should offer a small breakfast 1 bacon, hash brown, 1 egg, half tomatoes, bean, toast, good sausage for £7 I would go back for breakfast . Eggs Benedict taste great cooked well better the the lock gates but eggs let it down not perfect in between just over cooked one ran one hard. It's a nice little place. I can never eat it all its massive so I am looking forward to trying the kids meal.

Beautifully decorated. Rather limited Sunday lunchtime menu but enjoyed the food. No traditional Sunday lunch but burger was fine

Cocktails were spot on.. food not so much. Chicken dish looked nice on presentation but inside... near raw. Outcome could have been a lot worse

Came here today as a fly in visit, was really hungry so decided to get a breakfast. Probably the best breakfast I've had in a long time, piping hot, very quick and efficient. Staff extremely friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Thanks guys. Will be back :D

Awful.. after waiting 45mins cold sausage sandwich.. 3 whole cold sausages place between 2 slices no bread no butter, (had to literally make my own) the bacon sandwich was inedible thick of salt and too tough to chew also lots of fat rind.. tea n coffee cold after waiting so long.. the positive is we got a full refund

We really stumbled onto this place while trying to find the tall ship at the Naval museum. Go past the museum and at the roundabout take the exit to the marina. It's removed from the busy A19 but there are a wealth of pubs and restaurants back there. The Black Olive looks pretty inconspicuous from outside. Inside it's quite lush with luxe velvety furnishings and crystal chandeliers. We had the Black Oliver burger and really enjoyed it. It came with a lovely fresh crisp side salad. The chips were truly handcut and triple baked. The beef burger was made from nice ground chuck. The staff were friendly and used down time to clean. Beautiful setting on the marina and there are two ice cream shops in the same area.
