Casa Del Mar in Hartlepool

We went in for lunch today, they took sometime to take our order. They were busy, but people were getting served who came in after us. We placed our order for 1 childs meal, and 3 tapas and 1 fajitas. The girl came back and said you get a tapas with your fajitas, so we ordered another, which we thought was great. We then got our meal minus the fajitas, I asked and they had missed it off so we got a long wait for these and were advised they would not charge. When bill come we were chaged for 2 meals and 3 drinks and childs meal. I queried this and said the fajitas should have not been included the bill was revised after some debate with no explation and no apology. I paid as I felt a bit uncomfortable, when I left I had been charged for 3 drinks, when one should have been included in childs meal, and for 3 other dishes so really I had not got the fajitas for free, to be honest I dont think I will return. Previously I have been here quite allot, but after today I just felt the whole experience was dissappointing. Probably unluck, but if the staff had been more friendly I would have forgiven this. Check your bill, and what you order.

Good is lovey, as it always is, but the service has been really poor on the last two visits. If you can get in whilst it’s quiet the service should be better and the food will be lovely as always.

Really nice place, and the best of staff.Food actually quite similar to the Spanish, speaking from someone who used to live there for 4 years. Not quite the real thing. Perhaps the chef need a bit more exposure ;)Kudos to the team with giving kids Christmas presents, beautiful gesture.

Fantastic food, good atmosphere (music and setup), good table service where you can tick what your food choices can be. We tried quite a few tapas selections and each one of them were deliciously cooked.

Average. Waiting 20 minutes for drinks to arrive. Served main dishes before tapas. Meat platter is exactly what you buy in Asda. No ventilation means you will smell of kitchen oil when you leave. I have no reason to return here.

Disappointed... Family meal for a birthday.. Table booked for 5 pm.Waited ages for drinks order taken. Soft drinks were flat and watery. Sent them back.Waited ages for the bread..Waited until after 6pm for the actual food.. Which was as good as usual. Asked for 2 jugs of water and 1 had a fly in.. Didn't complain as would have had to wait again for staff /replacement.. Shame badly let down by the service tonight. We had to be out by 7.15pm I was told when I booked over the phone - felt we had to rush to get out. Felt bad for our daughter as it was her 16th today.. Bought cakes on the way home as hadn't time for dessert..Feel an overall let down evening..

Place is beautiful, feels very Spanish, decor is great! We've been here multiple times and food is always fantastic, so is the music. Service however can be a bit hit and miss. Definitely recommend going on a quieter day.

Never had a bad meal here, ever. Food and service second to none!

Great tapas for vegetarian or meat options. Great atmosphere and friendly service. An area of Hartlepool deserving of support and regeneration. Would happily revisit on my next business trip to the Northeast.
