Portofino in Hartlepool

With it's out-of-date Mediterranean interior and uncomfortable bentwood café chairs, it's actually quite cosy. However, the food was surprisingly good, especially their wood-fired pizzas with generous toppings....probably the only place to get an authentic pizza for 50miles...

Apart from the steps a lovely meal lies ahead. Been a few times already and enjoy the restaurant very much. Well priced food with a great choice and selection of fixed price set meals. Nice views of Quay harbor.

The food was amazing. Menu fantastic. Vegan menu great too. Views from our window seat looked over tallship Trincomalee and marina. Service was excellent especially considering how busy it was.

The bruchetta starter was amazing, definitely a new favourite of mine, and the portion sizes are massive. You definitely can't leave hungry. Very nice atmosphere, a bit loud, with a great view out the windows.

A really nice restaurant, probably the best Italian food in hartlepool. Book early on busy nights as their tables fill up fast. All pizzas are made from scratch and you can taste the difference in the dough. All ingredients are fresh and taste amazing. Sauces are clearly made in house and have an authentic taste, with a light use of garlic and chilli's. Portion sizes for the mains is good, but is amazing for the starters, try the potato skins. Waiting staff are fantastic and always happy to help.

Great vegan menu, always our go to restaurant. Very friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend 😊
