Update 22 Aug: seems this place has permanently closed. Shame. Website has been down all weekend. I was there at 19:20 today, and the place is closed. According to the opening hours it should have been open until 20:00. No note on google, or on the door about what’s going on. Website is gone. Shame as they had the best pizza around.Amazing pizza!!! One of the best I have had anywhere in the world! Would love if you’d be open every day and you should do home delivery as well.

The pizzas are tasty, prepared and cooked to order. All of the bases are sourdough, which I love, and the ingredients are premium quality which you can tell from the flavour.

Having wanting to visit Barbarossa for a while, I finally got my chance when the Mrs was out of town. I’m a big fan of wood fired style pizza restaurants and visited several ones. This one situated in the heart of Middlesbrough’s nightlife is tucked away from the swarms of drunkards. The restaurant is open and you can watch the kitchen staff in the kitchen working around the fire. The sourdough bread is probably the best you'll taste, I’m told their bread is prepared over 7 days. I couldn’t understand the plates of bread crusts going back to the kitchen as waste. The sourdough bread really added authenticity to the pizza and incredible.I opted for meat feast and added goats cheese, rocket, spicy Italian sausage. The pizzas held the weight of the topping, some pizzas the toppings fall off but these held. Meats great quality and didn’t leave too much grease behind. Washed down with a BrewDog lager. The food came out rapidly if not too quick.I was eating alone but the waitress sorry I didn’t get your name but you liked after me. Which made the job of eating alone, a lot easier thank you. There’s nothing at all wrong with this restaurant but they could benefit from more Italian style starters like arancini etc.Good effort on the craft beers but this Italian get some Italian craft beer in there. Not the usual suspects of birra moretti, menabrea and peroni.

Very soggy/floppy and oily pizza, no crisp to the bite, very disappointed. However the chips where lovely especially with garlic dip (extra ÂŁ1.50 for dip) tasted like a Sunday roast spud, what was a change! However, I wouldn't reccomend, as you can get a better pizza in most other places.

I love this place. The staff are brilliant and the pizza's are just out of this world. Highly recommended this place.

I've been waiting to try this place for months but they seem to be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Best pizza in Middlesbrough by a mile. Reasonable prices too.

Very delicious pizza, good service. Tasted almost as good as the pizza I had in Italy

Had an amazing pepperoni pizza, cooked to perfection! The cheese was fantastic and the pepperoni had a nice level of spice. I ordered a dip but there was no need to use it on such a good pizza. Had a nice pint aswell to top the afternoon off!
