Bluebell Hotel Middlesbrough in Middlesbrough

We were there for a funeral wake not a joyous occasion, staff were friendly lager good but its looking a bit dated now.

Dark and very noisy. I did not really enjoy the experience this time. Previously I had very much enjoyed the ambience, decor and food.

Been staying here while working away from home. Very welcoming staff. Brilliant food and a wide range of beers and drinks.Can't ask for more!

It's OK for the price of the rooms, our room was clean, beer prices not too bad either.....cheap and cheerful

Not the fanciest hotel but very clean, comfortable beds and a good shower. Good location to local shops and takeaways. Would recommend this hotel

Visited as I knew they had vegetarian / vegan options. Couldn't find a kids menu snd staff seemed too busy to approach so I set about ordering a vegetarian burger for my daughter "we dont do a kids vegetarian / vegan burger". The astute barman asked a colleve about a kids version to be told "we don't do 'em" so I said an adult one wouldbe fine. "Just a plain burger in a bun tho please, as my daughter doesn't like the extra toppings"....Then, out comes my daughter's burger with vegan plastic orange cheez slices (swiftly scraped off) and the we hit some odd kind of dressing/sauce that was smothered over the bun bottom.Thankfully, after pointing out to a server that we'd asked for a plain burger they swiftly popped her burger into a plain bun.Overall it just seemed like poor communication. If they did a veggie burger why not offer a fantastic kids version, surely it'd be dead easy to add to the menu.

We had a lovely meal today at lunch time the staff were excellent especially Kirsty who cooked and served our food. The quality and price were very good. Will recommend.

Used to live in m'bro, still have a lot of family here so have always used bluebell to stay while here, usually clean friendly and comfy, this time however, found the hotel room quite dirty, with stains on furniture and questionable cleanliness in the bathroom, we paid for breakfast each day of our 4 day stay, but were told on Monday morning, there is no chef, the manager on duty on Monday morning couldn't bring himself to say good morning to us never mind tuck his shirt in or smile, so sad that such a lovely place is being allowed to go to seed.

Decided to have an overnight stay here on our way up north. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Decent priced drinks. Connor who helped check us in and then was on the bar was welcoming and able to answer our questions about the local area. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic and the chef couldn’t have been more helpful. Definitely a lovely place for a night away.

Had a very good meal here yesterday . The offer with a free drink was very good value as were the children's meals which were good quality and excellent value. Was quite busy but fortunately we had booked a table . Good friendly waitress. Paid to park in large carpark but money was refunded on first order.
